8,000 mAh Battery and 144Hz Display Give Realme 16T an Unusual Edge Over Rivals

Realme has positioned the 16T as a phone that leans hard into endurance without dropping modern display and performance features. Its headline combination is unusual for the segment: an 8,000 mAh battery, a 144Hz screen, and MediaTek Dimensity 6300 support.

That battery is the main attraction, and Realme says it can last up to three days on a single charge. The company also claims the cell is built to remain healthy for as long as seven years, reinforcing the device’s long-life pitch.

Battery tools beyond capacity

The 16T does not stop at a large battery. It supports 45W fast charging and can also act as a power bank through 15W reverse wired charging, which lets it send power to other devices when needed.

Realme has also included all-scenario bypass charging. That feature routes power directly to the system while the phone is being used and charged at the same time, helping keep battery temperatures under better control during heavier use.

To support that approach, the phone carries a 5,300 mm² vapor chamber. The cooling hardware matters here because the device pairs a high-refresh display with a large battery, both of which can increase thermal demands during extended sessions.

Large display built for daily use

On the front, the Realme 16T uses a 6.8-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Realme says the screen can reach a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, which should help visibility in different lighting conditions.

The display setup is aimed at routine use such as scrolling, streaming, and gaming. A 16MP selfie camera sits in a centered punch-hole, while the fingerprint sensor is placed on the right side inside the power button.

Core hardware and software

Performance comes from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. The phone ships with Realme UI 7.0 out of the box, although Realme has not disclosed how long software support will last for this model.

Storage flexibility is another part of the package. The Realme 16T includes a microSD slot that supports expansion up to 2TB, giving users extra room for media files and large data collections.

Cameras and AI features

At the back, the phone uses a 50MP main camera with a Sony IMX852 sensor. It is joined by a 2MP monochrome sensor and is marketed by Realme as a “50MP Sony IMX852 AI Camera.”

Realme is also highlighting several AI-based camera functions. AI Portrait Glow analyzes the subject’s surrounding light and adds supplemental lighting effects with four options: Flash, Studio Light, Natural Light, and Rim Light.

Another feature, LumaColor IMAGE, is said to help produce more natural-looking skin tones. The rear module also includes Aura Flash, and Realme adds a selfie mirror on the back of the device.

Durability, colors, and pricing

The Realme 16T arrives with MIL-STD-810H certification and an extensive set of dust and water resistance ratings. Those include IP66, IP68, IP69, IP69K, and IP69 Pro, making durability another central part of the phone’s identity.

It comes in three memory versions: 6GB/128GB priced at INR29,999, 8GB/128GB at INR31,999, and 8GB/256GB at INR34,999. Color choices include Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and Starlight Red, with Starlight Red limited to India, while the Gleaming Wings Design is exclusive to the Aurora Green variant.

With this launch, the Realme 16 series now has four models. The Realme 16T went on sale in India on 27 May through Realme India’s official website, Flipkart, and major retail stores.
