Motorola’s Razr Fold is making a direct statement in the premium foldable segment by putting durability, brightness, and camera ambition into one very thin body. The device does not rely on design alone, since it also brings a high-end display setup, a full 50 MP camera package, and protection material that Motorola says is a first for smartphones.
A thin foldable built for easier handling
At 4.55 mm when unfolded and 9.89 mm when closed, the Razr Fold stays unusually slim for a book-style foldable. It also weighs 243 grams, which keeps it substantial without pushing into overly heavy territory.
Motorola added a dedicated grip curve on the body to make opening the phone easier. That detail gives the thumb more room during the unfolding motion, helping the device feel less slippery in daily use.
Protection levels go beyond the usual foldable approach
One of the biggest talking points is Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3, which Motorola says appears here for the first time on a smartphone. The company pairs that material with IP48 and IP49 certification for added resistance.
According to the stated protection claims, the Razr Fold can handle immersion in fresh water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It is also said to withstand high-temperature water spray, adding another layer of reassurance for a foldable device.
Brightness is a major focus on both screens
The outer display is a 6.6-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with high resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. That places the cover screen firmly in flagship territory, rather than treating it as a secondary panel.
Inside, Motorola uses a larger 8.1-inch 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its peak brightness reaches 6,200 nits, and Motorola describes it as the brightest interior screen in the smartphone industry at the moment.
All-50 MP camera system aims for serious foldable imaging
Motorola says the Razr Fold’s camera system reached the top rank in the foldable category on DxOMark as of March 2026. The setup is built around three 50 MP cameras, giving the device a consistent spec sheet across different shooting needs.
The main camera uses a 50 MP f/1.6 sensor with advanced OIS. It is joined by a 50 MP ultrawide camera with macro support and a 122-degree field of view, plus a 50 MP telephoto camera with 100x Super Zoom.
For video capture, the phone supports recording up to 8K at 30 fps. It also offers 4K slow-motion at 120 fps, reinforcing Motorola’s push to make the foldable more capable as an imaging device.
Flagship chip and large battery complete the package
Under the hood, Motorola equips the Razr Fold with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The chipset is matched with a 6,000 mAh battery, and the company positions the combination as suitable for long use, including up to two days of battery life.
That mix of thin hardware, aggressive display specs, a full 50 MP camera arrangement, and high-end protection shows how Motorola is framing the Razr Fold. Rather than treating foldables as a compromise between design and practicality, the company is pushing this model as a premium device that tries to cover both at once.
