Vivo S60 Vitality Edition Keeps 7,200mAh Battery, Trades Away The Periscope Camera

Vivo’s upcoming S60 lineup is shaping up to be less about chasing the biggest camera spec sheet and more about balancing endurance, slim design, and premium basics. The most notable twist is the Vivo S60 Vitality Edition, which is now tipped to keep the same 7,200mAh battery and 90W wired fast charging as the standard model even while trimming back part of the camera hardware.

That approach makes the series easier to read from a product strategy angle. Vivo appears to be splitting the S60 family into two distinct options, with the regular model positioned higher and the Vitality Edition offering a slightly simpler package without giving up the large battery.

Two models, one slim body

Both phones are said to share a flat 6.59-inch display with 1260p resolution. They are also expected to carry IP68 and IP69 ratings, which would give the pair strong protection against dust and water.

The design language is reportedly aligned as well. Each device is said to measure 157.52 x 74.33 x 7.92mm, with a metal frame and a glass back for a more premium finish.

Battery life stays unchanged

The biggest surprise in the leak is that the Vitality Edition does not scale back battery capacity. It is still said to pack a 7,200mAh battery and support 90W wired charging through USB Type-C, matching the standard Vivo S60.

That combination stands out because Vivo is also trying to keep the phone relatively slim. A 7.92mm profile with such a large battery suggests the company is prioritizing endurance without turning the handset into a bulky device.

Camera hardware is where the split appears

The most obvious difference between the two variants is on the back. The regular Vivo S60 is tipped to include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with Sony IMX882 sensor and 3x optical zoom, plus an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera.

The Vivo S60 Vitality Edition is said to retain a similar rear setup, but without the periscope telephoto unit. That means advanced optical zoom would stay exclusive to the standard model, while the Vitality Edition would offer a more streamlined camera arrangement.

On the front, both phones are reportedly equipped with a 50-megapixel selfie camera. Vivo seems to be keeping self-portrait and video call performance consistent across the lineup.

Different chipsets, different positioning

Processing power is another area where the two models diverge. The standard Vivo S60 is said to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 octa-core chip, while the Vitality Edition is tipped to run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7500.

That split suggests a clear hierarchy within the series. The standard version appears to target the higher end of the lineup, while the Vitality Edition offers a more modest internal setup without sacrificing the battery and charging experience.

Shared features and launch timing

Other reported features include an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and dual stereo speakers. Those additions help keep both devices within the same premium-oriented family, even if their camera and chipset choices differ.

Vivo is scheduled to launch the S60 series in China on May 29 at 7:30 p.m. local time. The company has already shown the standard model’s design and color options, which include Early Summer Green, Midsummer Night’s Dream, described as black, and Sea of Stars, described as white.
