Infinix Hot 70 stands out for one reason before anything else: its rear panel can change color. That unusual design choice gives the phone an identity that is far more eye-catching than the typical midrange release, and it comes paired with a 6,000mAh battery that positions the device as a practical daily driver.
The company is also pushing the model as something built to last beyond its hardware appeal. Infinix promises up to three major Android upgrades and five years of security patches, a support policy that is still uncommon in its class and adds long-term value to the Hot 70.
A design that tries to do more than look different
The most talked-about version is Thermo Orange, which reacts to temperature changes. Its back cover shifts to a deeper orange when the temperature drops below 0 degrees Celsius, then returns to a lighter orange at around 65 degrees Celsius.
Two other finishes, Quiet Violet and Green Texture, also use a distinct rear-panel treatment called Lumina Flare Dynamic Flame Texture. Beyond those, the Hot 70 lineup includes Dive Blue, Night Pulse, Thermo Orange, Quiet Violet, Green Texture, and Silver Dancer.
Hardware built around efficiency and AI tools
Inside, the Hot 70 uses the octa-core MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate built on a 6nm process. Infinix pairs it with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, while memory options include 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM, along with 128GB or 256GB of storage.
The RAM can also be expanded virtually up to 16GB. Infinix complements that setup with a stronger AI focus, led by the One-Tap AI Button that opens AI features and apps more quickly.
Other AI-based tools on the phone include AI Custom Wallpapers, AI Live Photo Mode, and AI Extender. These additions show that the Hot 70 is not built around hardware alone, but also around simpler access to software features.
Large screen, modest camera setup
Up front, the phone carries a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display with HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,576 pixels. The panel supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz, and a peak brightness of 700 nits in HBM mode.
For imaging, Infinix places a 50-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.85 aperture and autofocus. The front camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls.
Big battery in a relatively slim body
The 6,000mAh battery is one of the phone’s main strengths. It supports 45W wired fast charging and reverse charging of up to 10W, which makes the device more flexible in everyday use.
Despite that large capacity, the body remains relatively slim. Infinix lists the dimensions at 167.92 x 79.12 x 7.49 mm, with a weight of 195 grams.
Software, durability, and connectivity
The Hot 70 runs XOS 16 based on Android 16. On top of that, Infinix includes IP65 protection for resistance against dust and water splashes.
The phone also carries a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Additional sensors and features include an e-compass, g-sensor, gyroscope, light sensor, infrared blaster, and proximity sensor.
Connectivity support covers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, OTG, NFC, FM radio, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Infinix has not yet announced official pricing or market availability, but the Hot 70 is positioned as the first model in the new Hot 70 series, suggesting the lineup is only beginning to take shape.
