The latest iBox pricing update has created an unusual split in the Indonesian iPhone market. Instead of moving in one direction, several recent models have become more expensive while a few older units have been marked down, leaving buyers with a much wider range of choices.
That divergence is most visible in the iPhone 15 and iPhone 17 lines. The latest official iBox data as of Saturday, 30/5/2026 shows that most newer variants moved higher, while only selected older models such as iPhone 14 recorded lower prices.
The sharpest increase is in the iPhone 15
Among all the models that changed price, the iPhone 15 128 GB saw the largest percentage jump. Its price rose from Rp11.249.000 to Rp12.999.000, a 15,55% increase over the January to May 2026 period.
That move stands out because the iPhone 15 is still viewed by many shoppers as a more affordable entry point into Apple’s premium lineup. The price change also shows that demand for older-generation devices has not disappeared, even as newer models dominate attention.
iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 also moved upward
The iPhone 17 series did not escape the broader upward trend. The iPhone 17 256 GB is now priced at Rp17.999.000, up 4,34% from Rp17.249.000 at the start of the year.
A similar pattern appears in the iPhone 17 512 GB, which has climbed 3,40% to Rp22.749.000 from Rp21.999.000. At the high end, the iPhone 17 Pro Max 2 TB now sells for Rp45.249.000 after rising 2,84% from Rp43.999.000.
The iPhone 16 line also became more expensive. The iPhone 16 128 GB is now listed at Rp15.499.000, an increase of 10,71% from Rp13.999.000.
Not every model followed the same direction
While newer devices generally became pricier, iBox also cut prices on several older variants. The clearest adjustment came on the iPhone 14 128 GB, which fell from Rp9.749.000 to Rp8.749.000.
That 10,25% drop was the biggest correction seen in the current pricing window. The iPhone 15 Plus 128 GB also moved lower, dropping 7,40% from Rp13.499.000 to Rp12.499.000.
These changes show that iBox is not applying a single pricing pattern across the entire iPhone range. Instead, each series appears to be positioned differently depending on its age and place in the lineup.
A market that is no longer moving in one line
Between January and May 2026, iPhone prices at iBox shifted within a broad band, from a decline of 10,25% to an increase of 15,55%. That range highlights how uneven the premium smartphone market in Indonesia has become.
A pramuniaga at an iBox store in Jakarta said the rise in newer models was surprising, since iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 devices are usually expected to stay stable or decline a few months after release. For buyers waiting for lower prices, the latest update means the decision is now more complicated.
On one side are newer models that are still climbing in price. On the other are older options like the iPhone 14, which are becoming easier to consider for shoppers with tighter budgets.
