Motorola’s Edge 70 Pro+ is shaping up as a feature-packed premium midrange phone that leans hard on battery life, camera hardware, and durability. The company has already revealed enough to show that this model sits above the Edge 70 Pro, with a clearer focus on endurance and imaging.

The phone is scheduled to go on sale through Flipkart after its official launch in India on 4 June. With a 6,500mAh battery, a triple 50MP rear camera setup, and a slim body, the Edge 70 Pro+ is positioned to draw attention in a crowded segment.

Battery and charging take center stage

Motorola uses a silicon-carbon 6,500mAh battery in the Edge 70 Pro+. The company says the capacity is good for more than two days on a single charge.

Charging support is unusually broad for this class. The phone includes 90W wired charging, 15W wireless charging, 10W wireless reverse charging, and 5W wired reverse charging.

Thin build, tough protection

Even with that large battery, Motorola keeps the device relatively slim. The thickness is listed at around 7.19 mm to 7.34 mm, while the weight is about 190 grams.

Durability is another major part of the pitch. The Edge 70 Pro+ carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, along with MIL-STD-810H certification for added protection in everyday use.

Display designed for brightness and motion

On the front, the phone features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272 x 2,772 pixels. It supports a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a peak brightness level of up to 5,200 nits.

Motorola also includes Pantone Validated colours, Water Touch support, and SGS certification to help reduce blue light exposure and motion blur. Screen protection comes from Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Dimensity 8500 Extreme powers the phone

Inside, the Edge 70 Pro+ runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme built on a 4nm process. Motorola claims the chipset can score more than 24 lakh points on AnTuTu.

The phone is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. To manage heat during gaming or heavier workloads, Motorola adds a vapour cooling chamber with a 4,600 mm square heat dissipation area.

Android 16 and long-term support

The software package is also current out of the box. The device ships with Android 16 based on Hello UI.

Motorola promises three years of Android OS updates and five years of security updates. That makes the phone more attractive for buyers who want longer software support in a midrange premium device.

Triple 50MP cameras, including periscope zoom

Camera hardware is one of the main highlights. The rear setup combines three 50MP sensors, led by a Sony LYT-710 main camera with optical image stabilisation.

The second camera is a 50MP ultra-wide unit that also handles macro shots. The third is a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and support for up to 50x Super Zoom.

For selfies and video calls, Motorola adds a 50MP front camera with autofocus. Video recording support goes up to 4K HDR10+ at 60fps, while slow-motion recording reaches 4K at 120fps.

Connectivity and color options

The rest of the package includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C. Other features listed for the phone are an in-display fingerprint sensor, face unlock, ThinkShield security, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Motorola will offer the Edge 70 Pro+ in three Pantone colors: Chicory Coffee, Stormy Sea, and Zinfandel. The back finish changes by variant, with options inspired by wood, satin-luxe, and twill textures.
