The clip adds another layer to the long list of leaks surrounding Apple’s first foldable, although the exact origin of the unit cannot be fully verified. It is described as a factory-made mockup that has circulated to show the device’s physical shape, which makes it useful for understanding the direction of the design without confirming the final product.
A more polished-looking dummy than earlier leaks
Compared with the dummy unit that appeared through Unbox Therapy, this newer version looks closer to a finished device. The exterior no longer resembles a simple shell, because it now includes areas that look like display sections on several sides of the body.
That detail matters because the overall shape lines up with earlier reports and leaked visuals. When opened, the unit appears noticeably shorter but wider, reinforcing the idea that Apple may be working on a foldable format that does not match the height of a normal phone.
The inner display and hinge draw the most attention
One of the most striking elements appears on the inner screen. The crease in the middle is very visible, although there is a strong possibility that the dark central section is only a black plastic sheet placed there to mimic an active panel.
The video also suggests the device is somewhat difficult to open with one hand. Once unfolded, the dummy looks very flexible, so the hinge behavior shown in the clip should not be treated as a final indicator of Apple’s actual mechanism.
Ports, buttons, and camera placement are easier to identify
Several hardware details are visible along the frame. The USB-C port, buttons, and speaker openings can be seen clearly, giving an early sense of how Apple may place the main components on the finished design.
The back of the unit is another focal point because of the camera module. Even though the device appears to use only two lenses, the bump is large enough that it may make the foldable thicker than any iPhone before it.
