Asus is positioning the ExpertBook B5 Flip G2 as more than a standard business laptop. The convertible model combines a 360-degree hinge, a built-in stylus, and an optional rear camera for document capture, giving it a work-focused flexibility that goes beyond ordinary notebooks.
That approach puts the device in a category aimed at professionals, educators, and students who need one machine for meetings, note-taking, presentations, and document handling. Asus is clearly trying to reduce dependence on a phone or separate scanner by packing those tasks into the laptop itself.
A convertible built for changing work modes
The ExpertBook B5 Flip G2 comes with a 14-inch NanoEdge touchscreen in a 16:10 aspect ratio. Asus says the display reaches 400 nits of brightness and offers an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Its 360-degree hinge allows the laptop to switch between laptop, tablet, tent, and display modes. That flexibility is central to the device’s appeal, especially for people who move between desk work, teaching, and field use.
Asus also includes an MPP 2.0 stylus stored inside the body of the laptop. The company says 15 seconds of charging can provide up to 60 minutes of use, making the pen more practical for quick notes and annotations.
Camera setup adds document capture
One of the most distinctive parts of the device is its dual-camera arrangement. The front camera is a 1080p FHD+IR unit for video calls, while the optional rear camera uses a 5-megapixel sensor facing outward.
That rear camera is designed for photographing documents and images when the laptop is being used in tablet or tent mode. For users who regularly scan class materials, meeting notes, or field documents, this reduces the need to switch to another device.
Both cameras include physical privacy shutters. In business and education settings, that kind of hardware privacy control can matter just as much as the imaging specs.
Core hardware and battery support daily use
Under the hood, Asus equips the ExpertBook B5 Flip G2 with up to an Intel Core 7 Series 3 processor. The laptop also uses Intel graphics and a neural processing unit that Asus says can deliver up to 18 TOPS for AI-related tasks.
Memory support goes up to 32GB LPDDR5X, while storage can reach a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The configuration suggests a machine aimed at productivity work rather than heavy creative workloads.
The laptop is powered by a 63Wh battery and supports fast charging. Asus says the battery capacity is meant to help the device last through a full workday.
Ports, mobility, and durability
Connectivity is handled through two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, Wi-Fi 7, and a combo audio jack. That mix should reduce the need for dongles in office or presentation setups.
The chassis uses aluminum and weighs around 1.34 kg. At 14.9 mm thick, it stays relatively slim for a 14-inch business laptop, while MIL-STD-810H compliance adds a durability claim for frequent mobility.
Security features target business and education users
Asus also places strong emphasis on security. The ExpertBook B5 Flip G2 includes TPM 2.0, a BIOS aligned with NIST SP 800-193, optional fingerprint recognition, and Windows 11 secured-core technology.
Those features make the laptop more suitable for organizations and schools that want tighter data protection. Asus has not announced pricing for the model, but the company says it is scheduled to arrive in select markets in the third quarter of 2026.
