Xiaomi 17T Brings 5x Periscope Zoom to the Standard Model, Launches at Rp 7.9 Million

Xiaomi is pushing the 17T series deeper into premium territory by giving the standard model a feature that was previously tied more closely to higher-end variants. The regular Xiaomi 17T now includes a 5x periscope telephoto camera, making zoom capability a shared highlight across both models in the lineup.

That shift changes the way the series is positioned. Instead of reserving long-range zoom for the Pro version, Xiaomi now places camera performance at the center of both the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, with the company describing the lineup as a Telephoto Master.

A major camera upgrade for the standard model

On the Xiaomi 17T, the new telephoto system uses a 50MP 5x/115mm periscope camera with a Light Fusion 800 lens. It is a clear step up from the previous Xiaomi 17T, which only carried a 50MP 2x/46mm telephoto module.

The newer model also supports 10x optical zoom and tele-macro shots from a distance of 30 cm. The rest of the camera setup remains complete, with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera.

Xiaomi 17T Pro follows a similar camera formula at the core. It also carries a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP selfie camera.

Different displays, different performance tiers

The two phones are built with Polished Metallic material, but Xiaomi gives each model its own visual identity. The Xiaomi 17T Pro comes in Black, Deep Blue, and Deep Violet, while the standard Xiaomi 17T is offered in Black, Violet, and Opal White.

Their screens also separate the two models clearly. Xiaomi 17T uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, peak brightness of 3500 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display. It offers a 144Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

Chipsets and batteries remain a clear divider

Under the hood, Xiaomi 17T runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra. It is available in 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB memory configurations.

The Pro model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, with the same memory options of 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. Battery capacity also differs between the two. Xiaomi 17T packs a 6500mAh battery with HyperCharge 67W, while Xiaomi 17T Pro carries a larger 7000mAh battery with HyperCharge 100W.

Official prices in Indonesia

Xiaomi 17T Series is already on sale in Indonesia and sits in the upper-middle segment. The standard Xiaomi 17T starts at Rp 8 jutaan, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro is priced above Rp 11 juta.

The official prices are listed as Xiaomi 17T Pro 12GB/256GB at Rp. 11.999.000, Xiaomi 17T Pro 12GB/512GB at Rp. 12.999.000, Xiaomi 17T 12GB/256GB at Rp. 8.999.000, and Xiaomi 17T 12GB/512GB at Rp. 9.999.000.

There are also promotional prices on selected sales channels. Xiaomi 17T Pro 12GB/256GB is offered at Rp. 11.499.000 on Shopee for purchases made from 6-8 June 2026. For Xiaomi 17T 12GB/256GB, a special price of Rp. 7.999.000 applies on Tokopedia and TikTok Shop for purchases made from 6-15 June 2026.

With a 5x periscope telephoto camera on the standard model, plus stronger chipsets, larger batteries, and 1.5K displays, Xiaomi is making the 17T Series one of its most aggressive entries in the premium mid-range market.
