Xiaomi is putting photography at the center of the 17T series, with a setup that pushes both models closer to flagship territory while keeping them below the company’s top-end phones. The most eye-catching claim is on the telephoto side, where the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro both lean on a 50MP periscope camera that can reach up to 120x AI Ultra Zoom.
That focus on long-range imaging is paired with Leica branding, which remains one of the biggest selling points of the lineup. Xiaomi also says the 17T shares the same telephoto, ultrawide, and selfie camera configuration as the Pro model, making the camera story a major part of the family’s positioning.
Zoom becomes the headline feature
On the Xiaomi 17T, the periscope telephoto camera supports 5x optical zoom, OIS, 10x lossless zoom, and AI Ultra Zoom up to 120x. Xiaomi also adds a telemacro mode that lets users take macro shots from 30 cm, giving the phone a broader range beyond distant subjects.
The camera setup is completed by a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front camera. Xiaomi says the series continues its collaboration with Leica through the Leica Summilux Optical Lens and Leica UltraPure Optical Design, along with two Leica-style photography looks and several Leica filters.
Another feature highlighted for the 17T is Leica Live Moment. When enabled, it lets users capture moving photos with a special Leica watermark and use portrait mode.
Where the Pro version moves ahead
Even though Xiaomi says the telephoto, ultrawide, and selfie cameras are shared, the 17T Pro still separates itself with a larger main sensor. The Pro model uses a Light Fusion 950 sensor sized at 1/1.31 inches, while the Xiaomi 17T uses a smaller sensor.
Video is another clear dividing line. The Xiaomi 17T Pro supports recording up to 8K at 30fps, while the Xiaomi 17T is limited to 4K at 60fps.
Two phones, two display sizes
The standard Xiaomi 17T uses a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution, or 2756 x 1268 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, or 2772 x 1280 pixels. Its panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate and the same 3,500 nits peak brightness, while Xiaomi says the display features are otherwise the same as the non-Pro model.
Performance and battery choices differ sharply
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17T runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage of up to 512GB.
Power comes from a 6,500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging. That makes the standard model more conservative than the Pro, which uses the Dimensity 9500 built on a 3nm process, plus 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
The 17T Pro also gets a 7,000 mAh silicon-carbon battery. Charging support is more advanced too, with 100W HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge.
Official prices in Indonesia
Xiaomi 17T is sold in two memory configurations. The 12/256GB version is priced at Rp 8.999.000, while the 12/512GB variant costs Rp 9.999.000.
The Xiaomi 17T Pro also comes in two options. The 12/256GB model is priced at Rp 11.999.000, and the 12/512GB version is listed at Rp 12.999.000.
With Leica tuning, a 50MP periscope telephoto system, and AI Ultra Zoom up to 120x, the 17T series puts imaging at the front of its pitch. The Pro model adds a larger main sensor, 8K video recording, a bigger display, and stronger charging specs, giving the two phones clearly different roles within the same lineup.
