ZTE’s new U15S puts battery endurance at the center of a device category that often runs out of power before the day is over. With a 10,000mAh battery and a claimed runtime of up to 26 hours, the portable 4G hotspot is aimed at users who need steady internet away from a wall socket.
The U15S is positioned as a practical companion for travel, mobile work, and shared connectivity in places where a phone hotspot may not be enough. ZTE has priced it at 179 yuan, making battery life and simple portability the main selling points rather than premium hardware extras.
Built For Shared Connectivity
The hotspot can connect up to 16 devices at once, which makes it suitable for small groups or for users carrying several gadgets on the move. ZTE also adds OFDMA support to help distribute bandwidth more efficiently when multiple phones or laptops are connected simultaneously.
For the cellular side, the U15S supports FDD-LTE bands B1, B3, B5, and B8, along with TDD-LTE bands B34, B38, B39, B40, and B41. A dual-SIM slot is included as well, giving users another option when one network performs poorly in a certain area.
Quick Status Checks On A Small Touchscreen
On the front, ZTE has placed a 1.44-inch touchscreen that shows key status information without requiring a separate app. Users can check signal strength, remaining data, and battery level at a glance.
The screen can also display a QR code for fast connection, allowing other devices to join the Wi-Fi network with less setup. That approach makes the U15S easier to manage in everyday use, especially when several people need access quickly.
Wi-Fi 6 Support In A Compact Body
For local wireless access, the U15S supports Wi-Fi 6 on the 2.4GHz band. The device measures 106 x 55 x 33 mm and weighs 237 grams, which reflects the size required to hold such a large battery.
ZTE has rounded the corners to improve handling, and the hotspot comes in black and white. The overall design keeps the device compact enough for travel while acknowledging that a 10,000mAh battery will inevitably add thickness.
Charging, Power Delivery, And Long-Term Use
The U15S charges through USB-C and supports 18W charging. It is also compatible with common charging protocols including PD, QC, and PPS, which gives it flexibility with different chargers and accessories.
ZTE has also included a direct power supply mode, allowing the hotspot to run straight from an external power source without relying on the internal battery. That feature can help preserve battery life over time when the device is used more like a stationary connection point than a fully mobile router.
Inside, the hotspot is powered by ZTE’s dual-core V3E-A53 chip. The hardware focus here is not on headline-grabbing speed claims, but on keeping the network stable while the device handles everyday sharing duties.
U15S arrives as part of ZTE’s broader connectivity lineup in China, alongside a newly introduced 5G mobile router with Wi-Fi 7 and dual 2.5GbE ports. Even so, the U15S shows that there is still room for a lower-cost 4G option that emphasizes battery life, quick access, and practical multi-device support.
