Honor’s next affordable phone appears to be moving closer to launch, and the most important change is not subtle: the Honor X7e Plus now carries 5G support. That alone sets it apart from the regular Honor X7e, which is limited to 4G connectivity.
Recent appearances in TDRA and SGS certification databases point to a wider regional rollout, with the device linked to markets such as the United Arab Emirates, Europe, and the Middle East. For a model in the value segment, that kind of certification trail usually signals that a launch is nearing.
What the certification records show
On TDRA, the handset is listed under registration number ER60470/26, with the submission dated 11 June 2026. The filing identifies the model number MRK-NX1 and confirms that the device supports 5G networks.
Before that, the same device surfaced in SGS records under certification number FI-69290. The SGS listing does not disclose core hardware details, but it does mention lithium battery support and compliance notes for the European Union and Saudi Arabia.
Those two appearances matter because certification listings often reveal a product’s path long before an official launch announcement arrives. In this case, the overlap between TDRA and SGS strengthens the view that Honor is preparing a regional release rather than a China-only debut.
What is still unknown
Despite the growing paper trail, Honor has not revealed the chipset, battery capacity, display size, camera setup, memory configuration, or pricing for the Honor X7e Plus 5G. The company has also not confirmed a launch date.
That leaves the core proposition easy to identify but hard to measure for now. The model is clearly being positioned as a step up from the standard X7e through 5G connectivity, while the rest of its hardware remains under wraps.
The move is notable because the regular Honor X7e has only recently launched in Malaysia. That model follows a classic value-for-money formula, with a large battery, a high-refresh-rate display, and practical durability features.
Honor equips the standard X7e with a 7,500mAh battery and 45W fast charging. It also uses a 6.61-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, the 4G version runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra and ships with Android 16 and MagicOS 10. The device also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, along with SGS 5-star durability certification for drop and pressure resistance.
Why the 5G version matters
Moving the X7e formula to 5G could widen its appeal for users who want an inexpensive phone without giving up newer network support. It may also open the door to a more capable chipset, which would help with heavier apps and games, although that has not been confirmed.
For now, the strongest evidence comes from the certification trail itself. TDRA confirms the name, model number, and 5G support, while SGS adds safety and market-compliance clues that point toward Europe, the Middle East, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
That combination makes the Honor X7e Plus 5G one of the more interesting budget phones to watch in the near term. If Honor keeps the same formula as the regular X7e, the Plus model could offer a familiar value-first package with the key advantage of 5G connectivity.
Until Honor says more, the device remains a well-supported but still unfinished picture. The filings suggest the phone is close, but the final specification sheet and launch schedule are still waiting for an official reveal.
