HMD C2 and C2P Leak Brings AMOLED Screens, 6,000mAh Batteries, and Sharp Price Gaps

HMD’s next C-series phones are starting to look like a carefully split pair. The leaked details on the HMD C2 and HMD C2P point to shared basics, but also a clear jump in display quality, camera hardware, and durability on the Pro model.

According to tipster @smashx_60, both devices are being prepared with a 6,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 5G, and a 50-megapixel front camera. If the leak proves accurate, HMD is aiming squarely at buyers who want long battery life, modern connectivity, and strong selfie hardware at a lower price point.

Two models, two different targets

The leaked renders show a familiar design language across both phones, including a square rear camera island, a glossy back panel, and a punch-hole display. HMD C2 appears in blue, while HMD C2P is shown in green and maroon, giving the Pro model a more distinctive look.

The pricing also suggests a deliberate split in positioning. HMD C2 is said to start at EUR 149 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB variant, while the 6GB RAM + 256GB version is listed at EUR 169.

HMD C2P is reportedly coming in a single 8GB RAM + 256GB configuration for around EUR 200. That gap hints that the Pro model is being set up for users who want a little more display speed and a stronger camera package.

Model Leaked Configuration Leaked Price
HMD C2 6GB + 128GB EUR 149
HMD C2 6GB + 256GB EUR 169
HMD C2P 8GB + 256GB EUR 200

AMOLED display on both, faster panel on the Pro

Both phones are said to use a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with full-HD+ resolution, which is one of the most striking parts of the leak. AMOLED at this level is likely to be a major selling point for buyers comparing budget-friendly 5G phones.

There is, however, a notable difference in display performance. HMD C2 is tipped to offer a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, while HMD C2P is expected to step up to 120Hz and 1,500 nits.

That means the Pro version is not just about larger memory. It also appears to be tuned for smoother scrolling and better outdoor visibility, which could matter more than raw specifications for everyday use.

Shared core hardware, but different camera priorities

Under the hood, both models are said to run on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 5G, a Qualcomm chip reportedly built on a 4nm process. They are also said to ship with Android 16, which would make them feel relatively current at launch if the leak is accurate.

The biggest separation between the two models comes in the rear camera setup. HMD C2 is said to carry a 50-megapixel main camera with EIS, supported by 2-megapixel and 0.3-megapixel sensors.

HMD C2P is positioned higher with a 64-megapixel main camera and OIS, plus an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel auxiliary sensor. The Pro model therefore looks more capable for users who want a more flexible rear camera system.

Interestingly, both phones are said to use the same 50-megapixel front camera. That makes selfies and video calls one of the most consistent headline features across the pair.

Battery life remains a shared promise

Battery endurance appears to be a central part of HMD’s pitch for both devices. Each model is reportedly fitted with a 6,000mAh battery and supports 33W fast charging.

The rest of the feature set stays practical as well. Both phones are said to include dual speakers, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Durability is another point of difference. HMD C2 is tipped to carry an IP54 rating, while HMD C2P is expected to move up to IP65 for better protection against dust and water.

For now, all of these details remain part of a leak, so the final specifications may still change before launch. Even so, the picture is already clear enough: HMD C2 and HMD C2P are shaping up as affordable 5G phones built around big batteries, AMOLED panels, and a more obvious step-up path for the Pro model.
