Samsung is pushing its TV ecosystem further into the world of art by adding the Art Basel in Basel 2026 collection to Samsung Art Store. The move gives compatible TV owners a new way to display curated works from one of the most important events in contemporary art.
The collection is available on Samsung Micro RGB, OLED, and QLED TVs. It includes 24 artworks selected from eight prominent galleries participating in Art Basel in Basel 2026, which takes place in Switzerland from 18 to 21 June.
A curated focus on Swiss contemporary art
Samsung says the collection highlights three generations of Swiss contemporary art, creating a broader view of the country’s artistic landscape. The selection is designed to show more than one style or period, instead emphasizing range and artistic development.
Among the featured names is Thomas Huber, whose paintings are described as carrying philosophical layers. Tobias Kaspar is also included, known for cultural critique with a fashion-world edge.
Athene Galiciadis appears in the lineup as well, with work that blends geometric and organic elements in multimedia form. Together, the artists help define a collection that spans different media and approaches while keeping its focus on Swiss-based talent.
Why Basel matters to Samsung and Art Basel
Samsung says Basel holds a distinctive place in the global art scene, which is why the collection was built to reflect the breadth of creativity associated with the city. The company is positioning Samsung Art Store as more than a convenience feature, instead making it a curated cultural platform tied to major art moments.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung, said the long-term partnership with Art Basel helps customers turn their screens into a personal space to discover, display, and live with art. The statement underscores Samsung’s strategy of blending premium display technology with cultural content.
Art Basel also framed the collection as rooted in local context. Maike Cruse, Director of Art Basel in Basel, said Basel is a city where art is experienced with depth and attention.
Cruse added that the spirit is reflected in the ABB 2026 collection on Samsung Art Store, and said the collaboration highlights artists based in Switzerland. She also noted that the collection reflects the richness, diversity, and vitality of the region while helping connect local scenes with a global audience.
What compatible TV owners get
For owners of compatible Samsung TVs, the collection offers direct access to works connected to a major European art hub without leaving home. The screen becomes a display space for art rather than only a place for films, series, or games.
Samsung says the collection is available across Micro RGB, OLED, and QLED models, widening the number of users who can explore it through the Samsung Art Store. The addition also shows how TV makers are increasingly using content and curation to differentiate premium displays.
The 24-piece selection is not large, but it is meant to represent a layered slice of Swiss contemporary art through work drawn from eight well-known galleries. The emphasis on three generations gives the collection both historical depth and a contemporary edge.
Samsung has not shared further details beyond the collection’s availability in Art Store. Even so, the move makes clear that the company sees the television as more than a household screen, but as a personal gallery connected to the international art calendar.
