Honor has quietly added the X70 Pro Max to its lineup in China, and the headline feature is hard to miss. The phone combines an 8,560mAh battery with a slim 7.76 mm body, a rare pairing in the mid-range segment.
For mobile gamers, that combination is especially relevant. Honor says the battery can support up to 14 hours of continuous gaming and up to 27 hours of short-video playback.
A battery built for long sessions
The X70 Pro Max uses a Qinghai Lake silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 8,560mAh. Alongside its endurance claims, the device also supports 90W wired SuperCharge for faster refueling.
Honor has also added 5W reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to function as a backup power source for other devices when needed. Despite the large battery, the handset weighs 196 grams, keeping it within a relatively manageable range for everyday use.
Display tuned for gaming and long viewing
On the front, the phone carries a 6.79-inch flat AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2640 x 1200 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which helps maintain smooth motion during games and general scrolling.
Honor says the screen can reach a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, which should improve visibility outdoors. It also uses Honor Oasis eye protection with 3840Hz PWM dimming to reduce flicker during extended use.
Durability gets unusual attention
Honor is not positioning the X70 Pro Max as just a battery phone. The device has SGS Gold Label certification and an internal structure inspired by a bulletproof vest, which the company says helps improve toughness.
The phone is also rated to survive drops from up to 2.5 meters. In addition, it carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, covering dust and a wide range of water exposure, including strong high-pressure spray.
Core hardware and software
Under the hood, the device runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 Enhanced Edition built on a 4nm process. The chipset reaches up to 2.3GHz and is paired with an Adreno 810 GPU and 8GB of RAM.
Honor also highlights its Hongyan Weak Network Enhancement system with a four-wing antenna layout. The company claims this setup can improve signal sensitivity by 93.2%, which could be useful for players who often rely on unstable mobile connections.
Software comes in the form of MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. Honor says the system is designed for lighter operation, smoother animations, and faster touch response.
Cameras, audio, and pricing
Photography is led by a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, EIS, and 4K video recording. The front camera uses an 8MP sensor for selfies and live streaming.
Other features include stereo speakers, NFC, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and an infrared sensor. Honor is offering the phone in Phantom Purple, Sunburst Gold, Bamboo Green, and Phantom Night Black.
In China, the X70 Pro Max starts at 1,999 Yuan for the 8GB/256GB model and 2,399 Yuan for the 8GB/512GB variant. There is still no official word on global availability, including whether it will reach Indonesia.
