One UI 9 Beta 3 Arrives With a 1.7GB Fix Package for the Most Annoying Bugs

Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9 Beta 3 for the Galaxy S26 lineup in limited regions, and the update is notable less for new features than for the problems it is meant to fix. At about 1.7GB, the package is large, but its focus is clearly on stability.

That matters for beta users because several of the issues addressed here affect everyday use. The latest build targets problems ranging from unexpected restarts during video streaming to display glitches during calls, signaling that Samsung is tightening the software before the final release.

Core fixes aimed at daily reliability

Among the most important changes is a fix for devices rebooting while users watch streaming video. Samsung also resolved a white-screen bug that could appear when answering phone calls on the Galaxy S26.

Another visual issue involved a black background showing up when pulling down the status bar. While it may sound minor, glitches like that can quickly make the interface feel unfinished.

The Files app also received attention in this beta. Samsung fixed an issue that previously prevented the full saved file list from appearing properly on the device.

Camera and interface issues get attention too

One UI 9 Beta 3 also improves autofocus behavior when using 30x zoom. That suggests Samsung is still refining more than just system stability, with camera performance still part of the push.

The update further addresses a problem where the home screen could not be swiped left or right while using the pen. For users of models that support stylus input, that kind of fix can make a clear difference.

Samsung also corrected a bug affecting lock screen widgets. Weather and battery information had reportedly failed to refresh consistently, and that behavior is now being handled in the newest beta.

In addition, some camera preview images were being cut off in certain cases. The company also improved an error tied to privacy display settings when setting routines or switching Quick Panel behavior on and off.

Area What Samsung fixed
Streaming and calls Reboot issues during video playback and a white screen when receiving calls
Interface Black background issues in the status bar, plus lock screen widget refresh problems
Apps and storage Files app list display problem
Camera and pen use 30x zoom focus behavior and home screen swipe issues with the pen

Security patch and rollout details

The beta also includes the June 2026 security patch, so testers are getting both bug fixes and the latest security improvements in the same release. According to SamMobile, the firmware version is vS94xBXXU3ZZF7.

Availability is still limited to selected markets, including South Korea, the UK, Poland, and India. Users in the beta program elsewhere may need to wait a bit longer for access.

Samsung appears to be moving quickly with One UI 9 development, which is built on Android 17. Testing began in early May, and Beta 2 arrived at the end of the same month.

Beta 2 was also large at 1.6GB, and it followed the same pattern of emphasizing bug fixes over obvious feature additions. That approach suggests Samsung is now in a polishing phase rather than a feature-heavy phase.

Earlier updates also tackled issues in Good Lock, especially LockStar, to fix lock screen clock problems. Samsung had also addressed a separate issue involving the deletion of large numbers of messages.

Feature development has not disappeared entirely, however. Previous reports indicated that Samsung was preparing a Contacts and Creative Studio integration, along with customization tools in Notes.

For now, the center of gravity is stability, and that is exactly what Beta 3 is trying to deliver. Galaxy S26 users in the United States may receive the update later, so beta participants will likely need to keep watching for the next notification.
