Tecno has quietly put the Camon 50 Slim on its global website, and the device immediately stands out for one reason: it combines an ultra-thin 6.39 mm body with 354 mini-LED lights on the back.
That combination makes the phone look closer to a design statement than a conventional midrange device. Tecno is clearly using the Camon line to push visual identity as hard as it pushes hardware.
Design takes the lead
The rear lighting system works with Tecno’s AI Mood Light feature, which can create multiple lighting effects for notifications and other interactions. The module is integrated into the camera area, giving the phone a more distinctive rear profile.
Tecno also uses a curved body design on the Camon 50 Slim. The slim frame and extra light array together position the phone as a device built to attract attention before anything else.
Large AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate
Up front, the Camon 50 Slim carries a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels. The display also supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animation.
Those numbers place the screen among the phone’s main selling points. Tecno is not relying on design alone, since the display is also tuned to deliver sharper visuals and a more fluid daily experience.
Thin body, but still a 5,600mAh battery
Despite the 6.39 mm profile, the Camon 50 Slim still includes a 5,600mAh battery and 60W fast charging support. Tecno says the battery is designed to maintain its durability for up to five years.
That claim matters because thin phones often trade battery capacity for slimmer dimensions. In this case, Tecno is presenting the device as proof that a narrow chassis does not have to mean a small battery.
MediaTek chip and expandable storage
Performance comes from the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate, while the phone runs HiOS 16.2. Tecno offers 128GB and 256GB storage options, both paired with 8GB of RAM.
The memory setup also includes virtual RAM expansion of up to 16GB. For users who need more space, the phone still provides a microSD slot with support of up to 2TB.
Camera setup leans on Sony
On the rear, Tecno uses a 50MP main camera based on the Sony LYT-600 sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size. The back also includes a flicker sensor.
The front camera uses a 32MP sensor, while the imaging package adds underwater photography, AI-based image processing, and several focal-length options for portrait shooting. That keeps the Camon identity focused on photography as much as on design.
Full feature set and durability focus
The phone also comes with dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, NFC, and an infrared blaster. For protection, it carries IP68 and IP69 ratings as well as a military-grade durability certification.
Color options include New Mondrian, Prism Black, Jungle Green, Van Gogh Blue, and Burgundy Red. The naming alone reinforces how strongly Tecno is leaning into style and presentation with this model.
Availability remains unclear for now
Tecno has not yet revealed the price or sales availability of the Camon 50 Slim. The company has also confirmed only 4G LTE connectivity, which suggests the phone may be aimed at a specific market rather than a broad global rollout.
Even so, the specification list shows a clear strategy: a slim body, active rear lighting, a large 144Hz AMOLED display, and a camera package built around a Sony sensor. Tecno is trying to make the Camon 50 Slim memorable for how it looks and for how much it manages to pack into a thin frame.
