Xiaomi REDMI Buds 8 Bring 50 dB ANC, Hard to Ignore in the Rp600,000 Range

Xiaomi has brought REDMI Buds 8 to Indonesia, and the new TWS stands out immediately in the Rp600,000 range. The main reason is simple: it combines 50 dB active noise cancellation with battery life that looks unusually strong for its class.

The model went on first sale on 25 June 2026 across Indonesia, targeting young users who want flexible audio gear for daily movement. Xiaomi positions it for commuters, office users, and people who regularly exercise.

Noise control becomes the main selling point

REDMI Buds 8’s most prominent feature is its Active Noise Cancellation system, which is rated to reduce noise by up to 50 dB across frequencies up to 4 kHz. In the midrange segment, that level of suppression is aggressive and usually associated with more expensive devices.

Xiaomi also provides three transparency modes so users can hear surrounding sounds when needed. That makes the earbuds more practical for road use, outdoor activity, or brief conversations without removing them.

Sound tuning is made more flexible

For audio output, the earbuds use an 11 mm dynamic driver designed to deliver strong and solid bass. Xiaomi says the setup is meant to create a lively cinematic effect for music, podcasts, and movie audio.

Users can also adjust the sound profile through the Xiaomi Earbuds app. The app includes five preset options and manual equalizer controls, giving listeners more freedom to shape the audio to their preference.

Marketing Director Xiaomi Indonesia, Andi Renreng, said modern personal audio now requires flexible adjustment. He said REDMI Buds 8 brings customizable equalizer settings together with ANC, triple-mic AI noise reduction, and long battery endurance.

Calls are built for noisy environments

Beyond music playback, REDMI Buds 8 is also designed for communication. It uses triple-mic AI noise reduction to help keep phone calls and online meetings clear.

The microphone system is also claimed to block strong wind noise at speeds of up to 12 meters per second. That should help voices remain more audible and stable when used outdoors.

Battery life supports a full day of use

Battery performance is another strong point. Xiaomi says REDMI Buds 8 can last up to 11 hours on a full charge.

With the charging case, total endurance rises to 44 hours. Fast charging is also included, with 10 minutes of charging enabling up to 4 hours of playback.

The case also has a battery capacity indicator, making it easier to monitor power levels before they run out unexpectedly.

Price and color options

REDMI Buds 8 comes in three color choices: Black, White, and Green. With a price in the Rp600,000 range, it enters one of the most competitive TWS segments in Indonesia.

Its combination of 50 dB ANC, EQ customization, triple-mic AI noise reduction, and 44-hour battery life makes it a strong entry-to-midrange option. For buyers seeking a noise-canceling TWS under Rp1 million, REDMI Buds 8 offers a notably complete feature set without moving into a higher price tier.
