Nothing has fixed the launch date for its next entry-level phone in India, and the timing signals a broader shift in the company’s lineup strategy. The new Nothing Phone 4b is set to debut on 7 July at 3.30 pm IST, with sales in the country confirmed to run through Flipkart.
What makes the launch notable is not only the device itself, but the role it is expected to play inside Nothing’s portfolio. The company is using the new “b” line to move into a lower segment while keeping the brand’s familiar design language intact.
A new tier below the A Series
Nothing India Co-Founder and President Akis Evangelidis said the “B” line will sit below the existing “A” series. He described the move as an expansion that builds on the success of the A Series while preserving a clear product hierarchy.
Evangelidis also explained the company’s naming approach. The number marks the generation, while the letter at the end defines the product segment as Nothing’s catalog grows.
That structure suggests the Phone 4b is being positioned as a new entry point into the Nothing ecosystem. In practical terms, it appears intended to take over the lower end of the lineup rather than compete directly with the company’s higher-tier phones.
Early design cues point to familiar Nothing styling
Nothing has already shown a preview of the phone’s rear design, and the device remains instantly recognizable. The teaser features a transparent back panel with visible screws and exposed components, along with a pill-shaped rear camera module and an LED flash.
The back also appears to use a flat layout with rounded corners, which keeps it visually close to the family design used on the higher Phone 4a. Nothing has also hinted that a horizontal Glyph Bar could appear on the rear, similar to the one seen on the Phone 4a.
On the camera side, the promotional material points to a single rear camera system. The company has not yet revealed the sensor details or imaging capabilities.
Launch timing, availability, and pricing clues
The 7 July launch had first surfaced through a leak, and Nothing later confirmed the date itself for India. A screenshot shared by tipster Noah Cat also suggested that the phone may arrive in at least two RAM and storage variants.
That same leak claimed the Phone 4b could cost Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000 less than the Nothing Phone 4a. Nothing has not announced official pricing, so the figure remains unconfirmed.
For context, the Nothing Phone 4a launched in India on 5 March with a starting price of Rs. 31,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model. If the price gap from the leak proves accurate, the 4b would be aimed at buyers who want a cheaper path into the brand.
What remains undisclosed
Nothing has not published the full specifications for the Phone 4b. Beyond the design teaser, the horizontal Glyph Bar possibility, and the device’s entry-level positioning, the hardware picture is still incomplete.
By comparison, the Phone 4a already sits at the higher end of the lower segment with a 6.78-inch LTPS Flexible AMOLED display, 1,224×2,720 resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits peak brightness, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 octa-core chipset.
That contrast is enough to show where the Phone 4b is likely headed. More details on variants, specifications, and price should arrive when Nothing unveils the device in India on 7 July at 3.30 pm IST.
