Vivo X Fold 6 Faces a Sharp Price Jump, But Its Specs Aim Higher

Vivo is preparing to unveil the X Fold 6 in China on 26 June, and the biggest attention-grabber so far is not the design or the camera system. It is the price, which appears to climb sharply across every storage variant if the latest leak proves accurate.

The rumored pricing would place the foldable in a more aggressive premium tier from day one. On the leaked list, the 12GB+256GB model is said to cost 9,999 Yuan, while the 12GB+512GB version would be priced at 10,999 Yuan.

Two higher trims are also mentioned in the leak. The 16GB+512GB model is listed at 11,499 Yuan, and the top-end 16GB+1TB version is shown at 12,499 Yuan.

That would be a dramatic step up from the Vivo X Fold 5, which launched at 6,999 Yuan for 12GB+256GB, 7,999 Yuan for 12GB+512GB, 8,499 Yuan for 16GB+512GB, and 9,499 Yuan for 16GB+1TB. In other words, the new model would be positioned far above its predecessor across the board.

A premium foldable market that is already crowded

The rumored figures still fit within the wider premium foldable market in China. The base Honor Magic V6 with 12GB+256GB is priced at 8,999 Yuan, while the Oppo Find N6 in the same configuration is listed at 9,999 Yuan.

That comparison suggests Vivo is not alone in pushing foldable prices toward the 10,000 Yuan mark for entry variants. The segment has clearly moved deeper into ultra-premium territory, where hardware ambitions often come with heavier price tags.

Even so, the leaked images remain unverified, so the final retail price could still change before launch. The official pre-order listing has already confirmed the four memory configurations, but not the actual price points.

Hardware choices are meant to justify the jump

Pricing concerns are likely to be weighed against the hardware package Vivo is preparing. The X Fold 6 is said to use the Dimensity 9500 Super Edition chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in some competing foldables.

It also carries an 8.02-inch OLED foldable display, keeping it in the large-screen foldable category. The device is further expected to include a triple 200MP camera setup, plus a 50MP periscope telephoto camera for long-range zoom.

Other reported features include OriginOS 6 Fold UI, a 7,000mAh battery, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and support for a telephoto extender accessory. Together, those details suggest Vivo is aiming for a foldable that leans heavily on battery capacity and imaging flexibility.

The key question now is whether the final launch price will match the leaked numbers. If it does, Vivo will be asking buyers to pay considerably more than they did for the X Fold 5, in exchange for a package that tries to push harder on screen size, battery life, and camera versatility.
