Oppo is shaping its next foldable around one clear message: the display should look as smooth as possible when opened. The rumored Find N7 Wide is said to push that goal harder than many rivals, with a panel designed to greatly reduce the visible crease.
That approach could become a major pressure point for Samsung, which is also expected to move further in the same segment with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide. As the premium book-style foldable market gets more crowded, display quality is becoming a more important battleground than ever.
A Foldable Built Around the Screen
Leaker Smart Pikachu says the Find N7 Wide is being developed with a strong focus on visual cleanliness. The device is reported to use display technology intended to hide the folding line significantly.
The same tip suggests the inner screen may appear almost completely seamless, while the rear camera module adopts a horizontal layout rather than the more common vertical arrangement seen on many foldables.
Prototype Testing Points to a Global Launch Plan
Another leak from Digital Chat Station adds more detail to Oppo’s direction. According to that report, the company is testing a book-style wide foldable intended for a global debut in the first quarter of 2027.
The prototype is said to feature a main display of around 7.6 inches, paired with a smaller 5.5-inch cover screen for quick use when folded.
Samsung Display and BOE Are Said to Be Involved
Panel development for the device is reportedly being handled with support from Samsung Display and BOE. That kind of supplier combination suggests Oppo is treating display quality as a central part of the product strategy.
It also reflects how much the crease issue matters in this category. For many buyers, the visual experience can now matter as much as raw specifications.
New Hardware for the Premium Tier
Oppo Find N7 Wide is also expected to use Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. The chip is said to be built on a 2-nanometer process, with promises of stronger performance and better power efficiency.
If those details hold, the device would be positioned as a premium foldable that tries to combine refined design with serious speed. That combination is increasingly important as foldables move beyond novelty and into daily use.
Oppo is not only working on foldables, either. The company is also reportedly testing the Find X10 Ultra, a flagship with extremely thin bezels and a circular rear camera module that keeps the brand’s premium design language intact.
For now, the Find N7 Wide stands out because it appears to challenge Samsung on the one point that matters most in a foldable display: how invisible the fold can become. If the leaks prove accurate, Oppo may set a new reference point for screen smoothness, hinge engineering, and camera placement in the next wave of book-style phones.
