Xiaomi has expanded the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 lineup in Indonesia with a 4G model that keeps the tablet compact while adding cellular connectivity. For users who want a device that can stay online without relying entirely on Wi-Fi, this new variant is the most practical option in the series.
The appeal goes beyond mobile data support. Xiaomi pairs a 9.7-inch 2K screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 7,600 mAh battery, and a slim body that still aims to remain easy to carry.
Display first, then mobility
The Redmi Pad 2 9.7 4G uses a 9.7-inch display with 2K resolution, or 2048 x 1280 pixels. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness of up to 600 nits in outdoor mode.
Xiaomi says the panel has also received TÜV Rheinland certification. According to Product Marketing Manager Xiaomi Indonesia Andriani Pratama Putri, the certification is intended to help reduce eye fatigue during long periods of use.
Main hardware and battery
Under the hood, the tablet runs on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chipset built on a 6nm process. It is paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.
Xiaomi also includes a microSD slot that supports expansion up to 2TB, plus a 3.5 mm headphone jack for users who still prefer wired audio. On the camera side, the device carries an 8 MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5 MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The 7,600 mAh battery is claimed to last up to 18 hours for entertainment, study, and movie watching on a single charge. Charging is handled through USB-C with 18W fast charging support.

Software features that add value
The tablet ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi says the software brings features designed to improve integration across its ecosystem.
Among them are Network Sync for sharing Wi-Fi to other Xiaomi devices, Call Sync for receiving calls across devices, and Shared Clipboard. Andriani also said the Redmi Pad 2 9.7 can be used as a second monitor.
Design, price, and sale schedule
The device comes in a unibody design with a thickness of 7.4 mm and a weight of 401 grams. Xiaomi will offer it in Graphite Gray and Silver for the Indonesian market.
