HMD Skyline 2 is still in development, but the early leaks already point to a phone that plays it safe on design while making a far more serious move under the hood. For buyers who expected a dramatic visual overhaul, that may sound familiar, because the handset is said to look very close to the original Skyline.
The more interesting changes appear to be inside the device. According to the information circulating so far, HMD seems focused on upgrading the performance, display, and camera hardware rather than reshaping the phone’s exterior.
Familiar body, stronger core
GSM Arena reported that the phone is expected to arrive in blue, black, and yellow color options. That detail reinforces the idea that HMD is keeping the visual formula relatively unchanged for the second-generation model.
The reported chipset is Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. On paper, that is a meaningful step for a device that appears to be staying within the same design family as its predecessor.
