Poco M8 Power is drawing attention for one reason above all else: a reported 8,000mAh battery paired with a 7-inch OLED display. The device is now being linked to Redmi Note 17 family hardware, but the latest leak suggests its availability may stay limited to India.
The information comes from HyperOS code tracing by tipster Kacper Skrzypek, as reported by Gizmochina. A model number, 2602IPC8I, is said to belong to Poco M8 Power for India, while the India variant of Redmi uses 26021RN18I.
A Poco-branded version tied to Redmi Note 17
According to the leak, Poco M8 Power appears to be the India-facing name for a device related to Redmi Note 17. The same report says there may be no global Poco version at all, which would make the model a market-specific release rather than a broad international launch.
That separation matters because Redmi Note 17 is said to follow a different regional strategy. Global and India variants are both expected to appear, but the battery setup may change depending on the market.
| Model | Market | Battery | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Poco M8 Power | India | 8,000mAh | Believed to be a rebrand of Redmi Note 17 |
| Redmi Note 17 | India | 8,000mAh | Reported to match the China version |
| Redmi Note 17 | Global | 7,700mAh | Smaller battery than the India model |
| Redmi Note 17 Pro | Global | 8,340mAh | Smaller than the China version |
Battery differences are becoming more distinct
The clearest difference in the leak is battery capacity across regions. Redmi Note 17 global is said to drop to 7,700mAh, while the India version is expected to keep the 8,000mAh capacity seen on the China model.
Redmi Note 17 Pro also appears to follow the same regional split. The global model is predicted to use an 8,340mAh battery, while the China version is listed at 9,000mAh and the India version is said to remain unchanged from China.
What the devices are expected to bring
Based on the leak, Poco M8 Power and Redmi Note 17 for global and India are expected to use a 7-inch Samsung AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and up to 1,800 nits of brightness. The same devices are also tipped to use Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, a 50MP main camera, 45W fast charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
For the higher tier, Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G global and India are said to feature a 6.83-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits of brightness. The phone is also expected to ship with Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, a 50MP main camera, 67W fast charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging.
Neither Xiaomi nor Poco has confirmed these details yet, but the leak already points to a clear market split and a stronger battery story for the India-focused Poco M8 Power. If the information proves accurate, the model could stand out most for its large battery and unusually large 7-inch display.
