Caviar has turned flagship smartphones into limited football memorabilia, producing just 19 units of each Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo design. The collection, called Legends, starts at $11,410 and reaches $13,130 for the Messi model.
Its appeal rests on more than the two football stars featured on the devices. Caviar uses cloisonne enamel artwork and 24-karat gold plating to create custom rear panels tied to Argentina and Portugal.

The Messi edition is based on the unreleased Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. Its standard rear panel is replaced with an illustration of Messi, his number 10, and symbols associated with Argentina.
White and light blue colours on the Messi version are formed using cloisonne enamel. The metalworking technique fills coloured glass within wire partitions to produce decorative patterns linked to Argentina’s national team identity.
The Ronaldo edition uses either the iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max as its foundation. Its rear design includes a portrait of Ronaldo, his number 7, Portugal’s crest, and a geometric red-and-green background.
Caviar also uses cloisonne enamel on the Ronaldo version to emphasise Portugal’s national colours. Both editions receive 24-karat gold plating on their frames and across lines within the decorative artwork.
Luxury Pricing and Limited Availability
The 256GB Messi edition is priced from $13,130, placing it far beyond the usual position of a folding smartphone. Caviar is marketing the device as an extremely limited custom product rather than a conventional handset.
The 256GB Ronaldo edition based on the iPhone 17 Pro begins at $11,410. An iPhone 17 Pro Max version is also available, although its starting price was not specified.
Both phones will be delivered in special packaging. Each package includes a gold-plated key and a Caviar-branded coin, reinforcing the collection-focused presentation.
Different Release Status for the Base Phones
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is scheduled to launch on July 22, which means the Messi edition remains in the pre-order stage. The iPhone 17 Pro, in contrast, has reportedly been available since last year, making the Ronaldo edition based on an already released phone.
According to Gizmochina, the collection was announced as the 2026 World Cup concluded. That tournament has been described as a possible final World Cup appearance for both Messi and Ronaldo.
Caviar has also mentioned plans for a custom iPhone Ultra themed around Erling Haaland. The company said that model would be fulfilled after Apple’s hardware event, which is expected in September.
The Legends collection demonstrates how a premium smartphone can be repositioned as a luxury sports collectible. The 19-unit limit for each design is the defining distinction from the standard devices on which these editions are built.
