A Sunflower Field Appears on This Mother 3 G-Shock, but Buying One Takes a Lottery

Author: Qoo Media

Casio’s Mother 3 collaboration turns the familiar square G-Shock into a bright yellow tribute to the game’s sunflower field. Its most unusual visual detail is a gold wire guard over the display, a removable part that Casio is using for the first time in a Mother collaboration.

The watch is based on the DW-5600, also known as the Speed Model, rather than being a purely decorative collector’s piece. It retains the shock resistance, 200-meter water resistance, and everyday durability associated with the G-Shock line.

A game-inspired design beyond the logo

The yellow resin case and band draw from the sunflower field in Chapter 6 of Mother 3, an RPG known for its pixel-art presentation. Red accents reference the Mother series logo, while the band carries a pixel-art print of Mr. Saturn.

Activating the LED backlight in the dark reveals a retro sunflower-field illustration on the display. The stainless-steel case back is engraved with the word “Potential!”.

Casio also includes a dedicated metal storage box carrying the sunflower theme. Together, the case color, band artwork, backlight image, and packaging make the game reference central to the product’s presentation.

Core specifications

The Casio DW-5600-based model has an estimated battery life of about five years and weighs 55 grams. These specifications allow the limited edition to remain suited to regular wear despite its collectible design.
