A 9,000 mAh Battery Meets a 165Hz Display in Lenovo’s Compact Legion Tab Gen 5

Lenovo’s Legion Tab Gen 5 combines a 9,000 mAh battery with a compact 8.8-inch gaming tablet format. It also supports 68W wired charging and Bypass Charging for users who play while the device is connected to power.

The tablet is aimed at mobile gamers who need extended gaming time without moving to a much larger screen. Its 165Hz display, vapor chamber cooling system, and reported AnTuTu score of up to 4 million points reinforce that positioning.

Power Features for Longer Gaming Sessions

Bypass Charging directs power to the tablet’s components without routing it through the battery while charging and using the device. Lenovo designed the feature to help reduce heat and preserve battery condition during longer gaming sessions.

The Legion Tab Gen 5 has two USB-C ports with separate functions. One supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 and DisplayPort Out for an external monitor, while the other is positioned to make charging more practical in landscape use.

The tablet also carries the Legion Coldfront Vapor cooling system with a larger vapor chamber. Lenovo says the system can improve heat dissipation efficiency by up to 32 percent.

Cooling is especially relevant when demanding games run at high graphics settings for extended periods. Lenovo positions the system for titles such as Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile.

Lenovo uses an 8.8-inch PureSight Display with a 3,040 x 1,904-pixel resolution. The panel reaches 408 PPI and is intended to retain visual detail despite the tablet’s relatively compact body.

The 165Hz refresh rate is paired with a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz. This combination is designed to offer smoother movement and more responsive controls in competitive mobile games.

Techno.viva.co.id reported that Lenovo has retained the smaller tablet form factor to support a more comfortable grip. The 8.8-inch size is positioned for players who want a portable gaming device without the bulk of a larger tablet.

Performance Hardware and Storage Expansion

The Legion Tab Gen 5 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, built on a 3nm process. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 Pro internal storage.

Internal testing based on AnTuTu Benchmark reportedly produced a score of up to 4 million points. The configuration is intended to speed up game loading while keeping multitasking responsive.

Storage can be expanded through a microSD card of up to 2TB. This gives users additional capacity for games, data, and media files.

Multimedia support comes from dual stereo speakers tuned by JBL and Dolby Atmos technology. The tablet runs Android 16 and is offered in Eclipse Black and Surge Green.

For the Indonesian market, the certified variant is priced at around Rp13.9 million. The pricing places the Legion Tab Gen 5 in the premium category for mobile gamers prioritizing benchmark performance, cooling, a fast display, and a large battery.
