Samsung’s Freestyle+ is designed to make projection less dependent on a perfect wall, a fixed screen, or careful manual setup. Its Vision AI system can straighten, focus, and reposition the image as room conditions change.
That approach makes automation the central upgrade for Samsung Freestyle+, rather than brightness alone. The portable projector is intended to start quickly even when it is placed at an angle or aimed at an imperfect surface.
Image Setup Is Handled Automatically
The projector includes 3D Auto Keystone, wall color calibration, object avoidance, and real-time autofocus. Together, these functions are designed to adjust the image when the projector position or projection surface is less than ideal.
3D Auto Keystone can correct the image shape when the device is placed at a particular angle. Wall color calibration then adjusts the picture to suit the color of the surface.
Object avoidance can move the projected image away from obstacles such as picture frames and light switches. Its built-in ultrasonic motor handles image focus in real time.
Full HD Projection Up to 100 Inches
Freestyle+ uses DLP projection technology and delivers 1080p resolution. It can project an image up to 100 inches diagonally, while its brightness is rated at 430 ISO lumens.
| Specification | Samsung Freestyle+ |
|---|---|
| Projection technology | DLP |
| Resolution | 1080p |
| Maximum image size | Up to 100 inches diagonal |
| Brightness | 430 ISO lumens |
| Image support | HDR10+ and PurColor |
The higher brightness level improves image visibility in rooms with some ambient light. A dark room remains the best environment for maximum picture quality.
Samsung also includes HDR10+ support and its PurColor image processing. These features support the projector’s broader aim of adapting projection to different wall conditions.
Smart TV Functions and 360-Degree Sound
The device runs Tizen, the same operating system used on Samsung smart TVs. Users can access streaming applications, Samsung Gaming Hub for cloud gaming, Apple AirPlay 2, and screen mirroring from compatible Galaxy devices.
Its audio system consists of a 360-degree speaker with two passive woofers. Q-Symphony support allows the projector to synchronize audio with compatible Samsung soundbars or Samsung Wi-Fi speakers.
Gizmochina also reported that the model includes an eye protection mode. The lens automatically dims when a person or pet moves in front of the projector’s beam.
Built for Use Away From a Wall Outlet
The portable projector can run from an external power bank through USB-C, provided the power source offers sufficient output. Samsung separately sells a battery base for users seeking a more practical cordless setup.
The cylindrical design from the previous generation has been retained for portability. A dedicated travel pouch is included in the retail package.
Samsung Freestyle+ is available in the United States through Samsung’s website and selected retailers for US$1,199.99. Its key proposition is a projection system that can adapt to the room instead of requiring the room to be prepared for it.
