Xiaomi is preparing a 20,000mAh power bank designed to reduce one common travel inconvenience: carrying a separate charging cable. The Xiaomi Power Bank 5i 20000mAh 67W has an integrated USB-C cable that can deliver up to 67W of output.
The cable has a second role as a carrying strap, giving the accessory a more practical design for users who need portable power on the move. Xiaomi is scheduled to launch the product in India on July 23, although its price and full availability details have not been announced.
Capacity suited to cabin travel
The global version believed to be the basis for the Indian model has a rated energy capacity of 74.37Wh. This is below the 100Wh limit generally allowed for cabin baggage on commercial flights, though airline-specific rules still apply.
The device uses lithium-ion cells and has a rated capacity of 12,000mAh at 5V and 3A. It measures 140 x 72 x 31.2 mm and weighs 415 grams, making it a sizeable accessory for everyday carry.
Protection features on the global model include two NTC temperature sensors and nine circuit protection layers. These systems are intended to monitor conditions both while the power bank is charging devices and while it is being recharged.
Three charging paths in one unit
The Xiaomi Power Bank 5i is expected to support charging for up to three devices at the same time. Its available output paths are the built-in USB-C cable, a dedicated USB-C port, and a USB-A port.
Using all three outputs at once comes with a combined output limit of 5V and 3A. The arrangement still allows users to charge a phone alongside other compatible devices and accessories.
