Vivo may be preparing a markedly different return for its S Series in India. The rumored Vivo S2 is expected to sit in the Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000 range, placing it in the premium segment.
That would represent a sharp shift from the Vivo S1, which launched in India in 2019 at Rs. 17,990. The S Series has been absent from the country for nearly six years.
Premium Rivals in Sight
At its reported price range, the Vivo S2 could compete with the OnePlus 15R, iQOO 15R, and Vivo X200 FE. This suggests that the handset is not being positioned as a low-cost successor to the Vivo S1.
Rumors indicate that photography could be a central focus for the device. It is also expected to use a thin and lightweight construction, although its camera details and physical dimensions remain unknown.

The Vivo S2 name was previously found in the GSMA database with model number V2576. The same device is also said to have appeared in a Bureau of Indian Standards, or BIS, certification.
Neither listing reveals the phone’s full hardware specifications. Together, however, they add weight to the possibility of an India launch.
According to 91Mobiles Hindi, as cited by Gadgets360, an alleged promotional poster was shared with offline retail partners. It carries the phrase “Vivo S Series Coming Soon,” offering the clearest indication so far of the line’s planned return.
The poster reportedly reveals part of the Vivo S2 rear design. Its horizontal camera module is said to resemble the one on the Vivo X300 FE.
What Remains Unconfirmed
Vivo has not confirmed the product name, launch timetable, or official specifications. The available information should therefore be treated as a leak rather than a company announcement.
There is no confirmed information on the display, chipset, RAM capacity, or camera arrangement of the Vivo S2. The poster, GSMA entry, and BIS certification remain the principal signs that the device could be nearing launch.
The Earlier Vivo S1
The Vivo S1 featured a 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. It used MediaTek’s Helio P65 chipset and was available with up to 6GB of RAM.
Its rear camera system included 16MP, 8MP, and 2MP sensors. Those specifications provide context for the potential repositioning of the S Series if the Vivo S2 arrives at the reported price level.
