Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 combines a 201g weight with a 7.6-inch folding display and a 4,800mAh battery. The device measures 4.5mm thick when unfolded, making it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold model to date.
The design focuses on making a large-screen foldable easier to carry without reducing its main display size. When folded, the handset measures 123.9 x 81.9 x 9.7mm, while its unfolded dimensions are 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.5mm.
Large display, compact folded form
The main display is a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It reaches up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and uses a 4:3 aspect ratio for reading, watching video, and gaming.
Samsung also includes a 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. Its 10:16 aspect ratio is intended for quick access to messages and short-form video.
| Display | Size | Aspect Ratio | Refresh Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main display | 7.6 inches | 4:3 | Adaptive 120Hz |
| Cover display | 5.5 inches | 10:16 | Adaptive 120Hz |
Samsung describes the overall layout as a wide-open design intended to make interaction on both screens feel more natural. The differing screen ratios indicate that the cover screen and inner panel are intended for distinct usage patterns.
