POCO F8 Series Global Version to Feature Different Battery Specs: Full Leak Revealed

POCO is preparing to launch the POCO F8 Series globally by late 2025 or early 2026. The global variants, including the POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra, will differ significantly from their Chinese counterparts, particularly in battery capacity and memory options.

Renowned tipster Paras Guglani revealed that the POCO F8 Ultra global version will feature a smaller 6,500 mAh battery. This is a notable reduction from the China model’s 7,100 mAh battery, aimed at achieving a slimmer and lighter design more suitable for premium smartphone trends worldwide.

In addition to the battery downgrade, global versions will have fewer memory configurations. Consumers will be able to choose between two options only: 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage or 16 GB RAM with 512 GB storage. The expansive 1 TB storage variant available in China will not be released internationally.

Design, Color Options, and Production Strategy

The POCO F8 Ultra is essentially a derivative of the Redmi K90 Pro Max but with modifications tailored for the global market. One key change is the limited color lineup, which will include only Black and Denim Blue. This contrasts with the multiple vibrant colors available in the Chinese releases.

According to Gizmochina, Xiaomi is streamlining the production of the POCO F8 Series to improve international distribution efficiency. This approach will likely speed up certification processes and make inventory management across regions more uniform.

Both POCO F8 Pro and Ultra have already secured NBTC certification, indicating that the global launch is in its final stages. This certification also implies Xiaomi’s strategic move to strengthen its position in the mid-tier flagship segment internationally.

POCO F8 Pro Global Specifications: High Performance Focus

Despite the cutbacks in battery and memory, the POCO F8 Pro global version will maintain premium features. It will sport a 6.59-inch LTPO 2K flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,500 nits, promising sharp and smooth visuals ideal for gaming and media consumption.

Performance-wise, the handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 internal storage. This combination ensures smooth multitasking and superior gaming capabilities without lag.

The camera setup includes a 50MP Light Hunter 800 main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Supporting lenses include an ultrawide and a periscope telephoto, offering versatile photography options.

Xiaomi aims to compensate for the smaller battery by optimizing power efficiency with smarter battery management systems. Fast charging support will further enable longer usage times without frequent recharging.

Expected Launch Timeline and Market Positioning

The POCO F8 Series global launch is anticipated between the end of 2025 and the start of 2026. This lineup is positioned as an attractive choice for consumers seeking flagship-level specs at a more accessible price compared to other premium brands.

By offering the F8 Pro and F8 Ultra, Xiaomi highlights its strategy of balancing high performance with sleek design, while making prudent compromises in battery size and memory options. These adjustments aim to deliver an efficient and well-rounded smartphone experience adapted for international markets.

If the leaks hold true, the POCO F8 Series could emerge as one of the most compelling global smartphones within its segment, providing flagship power bundled with affordability and refined design.
