POCO X6 Pro Receives HyperOS 3 Based on Android 16: Discover Its New Features

POCO has officially started the final testing phase of the HyperOS 3.0.1.0.WNLEUXM update for the POCO X6 Pro. This update is based on Android 16 and is currently undergoing internal testing in the European Economic Area (EEA) before a wider release.

According to XiaomiTime, after successful verification, the stable version is expected to roll out gradually to global markets, including India and Southeast Asia, with an initial distribution target by the end of November 2025. The final build tests have reportedly proceeded smoothly without major issues.

Significant Interface and Performance Upgrades

HyperOS 3 introduces a refreshed, modern, and minimalist user interface for the POCO X6 Pro. Users will experience uniform icons, smoother animations, updated transitions, interactive widgets on the home screen, and a redesigned control center. These changes aim to deliver a visually pleasing and intuitive user experience.

On the performance front, the update integrates an AI Performance Engine that enhances CPU and GPU efficiency by up to 15% compared to the previous version. It also includes dynamic memory management and a new application priority algorithm to optimize multitasking and overall system responsiveness.

Advanced AI Features and Multitasking Improvements

The update brings several new artificial intelligence capabilities. HyperOS 3 features AI Text Summarization to condense messages or documents efficiently. Additionally, the AI Smart Photo Editor allows users to remove unwanted objects and automatically adjust lighting in photos. A new voice assistant enhances contextual responsiveness for more natural interactions.

Multitasking has also been improved. The X6 Pro now supports running two applications simultaneously on one screen. Quick Notes can be accessed from any screen, and an intelligent clipboard identifies useful content such as addresses, phone numbers, and links, enhancing productivity.

Enhanced Ecosystem Connectivity and Camera Interface

Through the HyperConnect feature, the POCO X6 Pro establishes smoother connections with other Xiaomi devices like the Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro, Xiaomi Band 10, speakers, and Xiaomi laptops. Features like Smart Hub and Super Island enable seamless switching of activities across devices without reopening apps.

The camera app now sports a more intuitive interface with automatic scene recognition to dynamically adjust colors, lighting, and effects. Improvements also include upgraded HDR capabilities, portrait video mode, and support for advanced video formats such as HEVC and HDR10+, which enhance image quality and video playback.

Security and Privacy Enhancements

HyperOS 3 incorporates a Privacy Dashboard that provides users transparent oversight of app permissions. A Secure Vault feature encrypts sensitive documents for better protection. Moreover, an AI Fraud Detection system helps block potentially fraudulent links or messages, improving user security against scams.

Android 16 Expansion to More Xiaomi Devices

This upgrade marks the expansion of Android 16 to a broader range of Xiaomi devices. Before the POCO X6 Pro, flagship models such as the Xiaomi 15 series and mid-range models like Redmi A3 and POCO F7 Ultra have already received Android 16 via HyperOS 3.

Following the EEA rollout, global and Indian markets will enter the next testing phase soon. The POCO X6 Pro is among the first mid-range smartphones to receive the Android 16-based update early in 2025, reflecting Xiaomi’s commitment to delivering premium software experiences across different price segments.

With HyperOS 3, users can expect enhanced multitasking capabilities, redesigned widgets, smarter camera controls, and stronger privacy features. These improvements keep the POCO X6 Pro competitive and appealing in the mid-range smartphone market.
