POCO F8 Global Version to Feature Smaller Battery and Memory Compared to China Model

POCO F8 Series Global Versions to Feature Smaller Batteries and Reduced Memory Options Compared to China Models

POCO fans worldwide eagerly await the official launch of the POCO F8 series. However, recent credible leaks reveal that the global variants will have noticeable hardware reductions compared to their Chinese counterparts.

These cuts mainly concern battery capacity and the available top-tier memory options. The popular tech tipster Paras Guglani first revealed that the POCO F8 Ultra, a global rebrand of the Redmi K90 Pro Max, will feature a smaller 6,500 mAh battery instead of the larger one found in China.

Furthermore, the highest storage variant with 1 TB capacity seen in China will not be available internationally. Global buyers will only get two memory configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM with 512GB storage. The color selection will also likely be limited in the global release.

The POCO F8 Pro model is not exempt from these adjustments. Unlike the Redmi K90’s 7,100 mAh battery, the POCO F8 Pro global version is rumored to have reduced battery capacity, possibly to achieve a slimmer phone profile. This kind of specification "trimming" is not uncommon. Manufacturers often make such changes for global versions to reduce costs, comply with regulations, or position the device at a competitive price point.

Despite these reductions, the POCO F8 series remains a flagship-level smartphone. The F8 Pro will still be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for top-tier performance. Its 6.59-inch 2K LTPO display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and can peak at 3,500 nits brightness, delivering vibrant visuals.

Camera features remain strong as well. The main sensor is a 50MP Light Hunter 800 with optical image stabilization (OIS), supplemented by a telephoto periscope lens, ensuring competitive photography capabilities.

Both the F8 Pro and F8 Ultra have already received NBTC certification, suggesting that a global launch is imminent, possibly by late 2025 or early 2026. This regulatory step confirms POCO’s plans to bring these models to markets outside China soon.

Consumers in Indonesia and other international markets should temper their expectations, considering these confirmed specification cuts. Watching for official announcements during launch events will be key to understanding the full lineup and pricing.

In summary, the POCO F8 series global variants will arrive with smaller batteries and limited memory choices but maintain flagship-grade cores and features. This approach balances performance with market demands and cost structures for international buyers.
