OnePlus 15 Launches Globally with New DetailMax Camera, Dropping Hasselblad Partnership

OnePlus has officially launched its latest flagship model, the OnePlus 15, to the global market on November 13, 2025. This global debut follows the device’s initial release in China on October 28, 2025. The launch introduces significant updates in design, performance, and camera features.

A major shift accompanies this launch as OnePlus ends its partnership with Hasselblad for camera technology. The collaboration concluded in September 2025, and the OnePlus 15 now features a new imaging system called DetailMax, developed by Oppo under the Lumo Imaging System brand. According to the company, DetailMax enhances image detail and quality effectively.

Design and Display
OnePlus 15 adopts a fresh design language featuring flat frame edges, providing a sharper and more modern look compared to its curved-edged predecessors. It sports a 6.78-inch Full HD+ BOE X3 panel with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. This screen configuration aims to deliver a smooth and responsive experience, especially valuable for gaming and multimedia consumption.

Camera System
The smartphone includes a triple rear camera setup, each with a 50 MP resolution. The primary sensor is a Sony 1/1.56-inch sensor. The periscope lens supports 3.5x optical zoom, while the ultrawide lens has an f/2.0 aperture. For selfies and video calls, it features a 32 MP front camera housed in a punch-hole design.

Replacing the former Hasselblad collaboration, the OnePlus 15 integrates Oppo’s Lumo Imaging System, marketed globally as DetailMax. This imaging pipeline focuses on improving photo details and overall image quality, marking a notable change in the flagship’s photography capability.

Performance and Battery
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the OnePlus 15 offers configurations up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. These specifications are designed to ensure seamless multitasking and high-performance handling of demanding applications. The device packs a robust 7,300 mAh battery that supports 120W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging, promising extended usage times and quick recharge.

The device operates on Android 16 with ColorOS 16 user interface, providing an updated and user-friendly software experience combined with latest features and optimizations.

Global Pricing
OnePlus has announced the global prices for the OnePlus 15 variants as follows:

  1. 12 GB RAM / 256 GB storage – approximately $900
  2. 16 GB RAM / 512 GB storage – approximately $1,000

These prices are noticeably higher than the China market prices, which range from around $564 to $758. The increase is attributed to taxes and distribution costs in international markets.

Target Audience: Gamers and Productivity Users
With its high refresh rate display, elite chipset, and large battery capacity plus rapid charging technologies, the OnePlus 15 is positioned strongly for gaming enthusiasts and productivity-focused users. The enhanced photographic system driven by DetailMax aims to deliver better image processing performance, maintaining OnePlus’ reputation for camera capability despite the end of its partnership with Hasselblad.

OnePlus 15 thus reflects a strategic evolution balancing cutting-edge hardware and new imaging technology. It offers a compelling package for users seeking flagship performance, improved display experience, and refined camera capabilities under a fresh global launch scheme.
