OnePlus Ace 6T Launching December 3 with Powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Chipset

OnePlus has officially announced the launch of its latest smartphone, the Ace 6T, scheduled for release on December 3 in China. This device will be the world’s first to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, highlighting a significant step forward in high-performance mobile technology.

The announcement coincides with a detailed leak from China Telecom that reveals the phone’s full specifications. OnePlus has also released official images to showcase the fresh design of the Ace 6T. Besides visuals, the leaked listing with model code PLR110 provides a comprehensive overview of the phone’s capabilities.

Display and Design

The OnePlus Ace 6T sports a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a sharp resolution of 2800 x 1272 pixels (1.5K). It supports a high refresh rate of 165Hz, promising smooth motion and responsiveness for gaming and video playback. The phone measures 163.41 x 77.04 x 8.32 mm and weighs 215 grams. It will be available in three colors: Flash Black, Lightning Purple, and Glimpse Green.

Performance and Memory

At its core, the Ace 6T is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, recently launched by Qualcomm. This processor has already shown impressive benchmark results, ranking just 14% behind Qualcomm’s higher-tier Elite Gen 5 model on AnTuTu. Memory options are expansive, with configurations including:

  1. 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
  2. 12GB RAM + 512GB storage
  3. 16GB RAM + 256GB storage
  4. 16GB RAM + 512GB storage
  5. 16GB RAM + 1TB storage

These choices cater to users with heavy multitasking needs and large storage requirements.

Battery and Charging

OnePlus has equipped the Ace 6T with an 8,300mAh battery, which is the largest capacity ever used in their devices. Although still rumored, the phone is likely to support 100W fast charging technology. This combination promises extended battery life and quick recharge times, ideal for power users who demand long-lasting endurance.

Software and Connectivity

The smartphone will run Android 16 out of the box with OnePlus’s ColorOS 16 skin. This ensures users benefit from the latest Android features and enhanced security measures. Connectivity features include dual SIM support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and USB-C port. For security, it uses an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, which offers better accuracy and speed compared to traditional optical sensors.

Camera System

Photography capabilities include a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor. For selfies, the front camera is a 16MP shooter. This camera arrangement aims to deliver excellent photo quality under various lighting conditions.

Special Edition and Availability

Alongside the standard model, OnePlus will release a special Genshin Impact-themed edition featuring the popular character Kamisato Ayaka. The official sale date is slated for December 19. Although the exact price has not been disclosed, it is expected to be positioned above the current OnePlus Ace 6, which starts at roughly $380 USD in China.

Market Position and Future Implications

With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, OnePlus Ace 6T enters the premium and gaming smartphone segment with strong performance credentials. The company is also developing the OnePlus 15R for global markets like India. Reports suggest it may be a rebranded variant of the Ace 6T, sharing similar design and internals.

Qualcomm’s strategy to introduce this chipset in devices with competitive pricing allows OEMs like OnePlus to offer flagship performance without premium flagship prices. The Ace 6T’s launch could thus reshape mid-to-high-end market dynamics and intensify competition.

This upcoming release is a clear signal that OnePlus is accelerating its adoption of cutting-edge mobile technology. The Ace 6T combines powerful hardware, large battery capacity, and a high-refresh-rate display, making it a serious contender in the gaming and premium smartphone categories. Further updates on pricing and global availability will clarify its impact on OnePlus’s market share against established rivals.
