Nubia Fold Officially Launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite and 6,560mAh Battery

nubia, a sub-brand of ZTE, has officially launched its first book-style foldable smartphone, the nubia Fold. The device is set to debut in Japan on December 4, 2025, through operator Y!mobile, featuring flagship specifications and a competitive price around $1,145.

The nubia Fold sports a large 8-inch main display with a sharp resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels. A secondary 6.5-inch cover screen offers 2748 x 1172 pixels resolution, both supporting a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, ideal for multitasking and immersive viewing.

Measuring 144 x 160 x 5.4 mm when unfolded, the device remains slim and compact. Folded, it reaches 11.1 mm thickness and weighs 249 grams, making it one of the thinnest foldable smartphones in the current market.

Under the hood, the device runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Elite chipset. Nubia equips it with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. This combination promises powerful performance suitable for gaming, productivity, and daily use.

The nubia Fold ships with the latest Android 15 operating system. It carries an IP54 certification, ensuring resistance against dust and water splashes for enhanced durability in everyday scenarios.

Camera Setup and Battery Capacity

The smartphone features a versatile triple rear camera system. It includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, two 20MP front cameras are placed on the main and cover screens, allowing high-quality photos whether folded or unfolded.

One of the device’s highlights is its large 6,560 mAh battery. This capacity stands out among foldable phones, aiming to deliver all-day usage even with demanding tasks. The phone supports 55W fast charging, enabling quick recharging to minimize downtime.

Pricing and Market Launch

Priced at approximately $1,145 in Japan, the nubia Fold offers a strong value proposition considering its specs and features. The initial launch focuses on Japan, with plans to expand availability globally through 2026.

By combining flagship hardware, a sizable battery, and a sleek foldable design, nubia aims to compete effectively in the premium foldable segment. This strategy might attract users seeking high performance and large screens without the price tag of other dominant foldable brands.

The nubia Fold comes exclusively in black, rounding out its premium aesthetic. Its introduction not only broadens options in the foldable market but also signals nubia’s ambition to establish a solid presence in this evolving smartphone category.
