Nubia Unveils Fold and Flip 3: Two New Foldable Smartphones Officially Released

Nubia has officially launched two new foldable smartphones, the Nubia Fold and Nubia Flip 3. These devices offer distinct designs, targeting different user preferences and price ranges.

The Nubia Fold features a book-style foldable OLED display measuring 8 inches with a resolution of 2480×2200 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Its cover screen is a 6.5-inch OLED panel with a 2748×1172 resolution, also supporting 120Hz refresh rate.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset powers the Nubia Fold, paired with 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The large 6,500mAh battery supports 55W wired fast charging, ensuring extended usage without frequent recharging.

Nubia equips the Fold with a triple rear camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro camera. For selfies, dual 20MP cameras are integrated on both the internal and external screens. The device supports WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6, IPX4 splash resistance, IP5X dust resistance, and features a fingerprint scanner. It weighs 249 grams.

In contrast, the Nubia Flip 3 adopts a clamshell fold design that is compact and affordable. The inside foldable OLED screen is 6.9 inches with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Its smaller 4-inch AMOLED cover display delivers quick notifications and camera viewfinder functions.

Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7400X, the Flip 3 is equipped with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Its 4,610mAh battery complements the mid-range specifications with adequate endurance. The rear camera module consists of a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens, while the selfie camera boasts a 32MP sensor.

Connectivity-wise, the Flip 3 supports Bluetooth 6 and WiFi 6, and offers similar protection ratings to the Fold with IPX4 and IP5X certifications. This model aims to bring foldable technology to a broader market with a more accessible price point.

Nubia plans to release the Fold first in Japan on December 4, 2025, priced around $1,145 (178,560 Yen). A wider international release is expected in 2026. The Flip 3 is anticipated to debut globally in January 2026. Color options include black for the Fold and black or white for the Flip 3.

Both devices confirm Nubia’s commitment to expanding its foldable lineup amid a growing global market. Industry trends predict a surge in foldable smartphones through 2025 and 2026, led by diverse product offerings across price segments.

Nubia’s strategic move enriches consumer choice with flagship-level performance and budget-friendly alternatives in the folding phone category. The company’s innovations emphasize sleek design, advanced display quality, and robust hardware.

The arrival of Nubia Fold and Flip 3 is a significant step in making foldable smartphones more mainstream and accessible. Consumers interested in cutting-edge yet practical devices now have compelling new options to consider.

Further announcements about availability and pricing in other regions, including Indonesia, remain awaited. Nubia’s dual launch highlights the dynamic competition shaping the future of smartphone form factors.
