Sony Electronics has officially launched the Sony A7 V mirrorless camera in Indonesia. This new model represents the fifth generation of the full-frame Alpha 7 series, widely favored by professional photographers and videographers. Sony designed the A7 V to meet the evolving needs of today’s creators by integrating advanced AI features and the latest sensor technology.
The camera features a new 33-megapixel Exmor RS™ CMOS sensor paired with the powerful BIONZ XR2™ processor, which includes a dedicated AI processing unit. According to PT Sony Indonesia President Director Motoya Itako, these improvements enable faster image processing and more precise autofocus performance to support creative workflows.
Enhanced Autofocus and Tracking
Sony claims that the Real-time Recognition Autofocus in the A7 V is 30% faster than its predecessor. The camera offers 759 phase-detection autofocus points covering 94% of the frame, allowing precise subject tracking even at the edge of the frame or in low-light conditions down to EV -4.0. The autofocus system performs up to 60 AF and AE calculations per second, enabling continuous shooting speeds up to 30 frames per second without blackout.
A notable addition is the Pre-Capture feature, which records up to one second of footage before the shutter button is fully pressed. This function is especially useful for capturing unpredictable moments such as sports actions, wildlife, or spontaneous human expressions, increasing the chances of getting the perfect shot.
Superior Image Quality and Color Accuracy
Sony A7 V offers an impressive dynamic range of up to 16 stops, preserving details in both highlights and shadows even under extreme contrast conditions. The camera also includes AI-powered Auto White Balance (AWB) technology that uses deep learning to identify lighting conditions automatically. This results in consistently accurate color reproduction and reduces the need for extensive color correction during post-processing.
Advanced Video Capabilities
For video creators, the A7 V supports 4K recording at 60 frames per second using full-frame oversampling from 7K resolution. It also offers 4K at 120 frames per second in APS-C mode for high-quality slow-motion footage. The camera includes AI-driven Auto Framing that automatically adjusts the composition to keep subjects centered. Additionally, the Dynamic Active Mode ensures video stability during handheld recording or movement.
Improved Usability and Connectivity
The camera features an enhanced power management system and better thermal management that supports extended 4K video recording without overheating. On a single battery charge, users can take approximately 630 photos using the viewfinder, based on CIPA standards. The multi-angle 4-axis LCD screen and a redesigned ergonomic grip provide greater comfort during long shoots.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E for high-speed wireless data transfer and dual USB Type-C® ports for flexible connectivity, charging, and data management, catering to professional workflow demands.
Pricing and Availability in Indonesia
Sony A7 V is scheduled to be available in Indonesia starting late December 2025. Pre-orders open from December 5 to December 21, 2025. The official price for the body-only variant is IDR 43,499,000, approximately $2,900 USD. During the pre-order period, buyers will receive a special bundle including a Sony Memory Card SF-M Tough 64GB, two NP-FZ100 batteries, and an exclusive jacket. Sony also offers Purchase with Purchase (PWP) deals on select lenses.
With its combination of cutting-edge AI, a next-generation sensor, and robust photo and video features, the Sony A7 V aims to be a versatile and reliable tool for professional creators in Indonesia.
