Samsung is set to redefine foldable phone photography with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8. Launching as early as July 2026, the device focuses on improving secondary camera systems rather than upgrading its already advanced primary shooter.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will retain the 200-megapixel main sensor introduced in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This sensor delivers sharp and detailed photos under various lighting conditions, making further upgrades unnecessary for now.
Samsung plans no changes to the selfie cameras either, continuing with the 10-megapixel sensors on both the inside and outside displays. Notably, the foldable’s signature under-display camera might be omitted in this generation.
Telephoto Camera Enhancements
The telephoto lens will keep its 3x optical zoom capability but will see a sensor upgrade from 10 to 12 megapixels. This 12-megapixel sensor matches the one expected in the Galaxy S26 Ultra, promising sharper and cleaner zoom shots.
