Xiaomi has officially announced two new premium wearables, the Xiaomi Watch 5 and Xiaomi Buds 6. Both devices will launch alongside the Xiaomi 17 Series flagship smartphones on December 25, 2025.
The introduction of these wearables marks Xiaomi’s significant push to enhance its smart device ecosystem. The Watch 5 and Buds 6 target high-end users by combining advanced health monitoring and AI-powered audio features.
Xiaomi Watch 5: Advanced Health Tracking with EMG Sensor
The Xiaomi Watch 5 stands out as a flagship smartwatch featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 wearable platform. This chip uses a 4nm fabrication process and a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor to deliver efficient performance.
Most notably, the Watch 5 introduces Xiaomi’s first electromyography (EMG) sensor in its smartwatch lineup. The EMG sensor detects electrical activity in muscles during movement, offering deeper insights into physical activity.
This EMG sensor works alongside an electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor, which measures cardiac electrical signals. Together, they provide more precise real-time monitoring of users’ physical conditions, from light activities to intense workouts.
Although Xiaomi has yet to disclose specific health metrics accessible from these sensors, the combination is expected to enhance accuracy in fitness and wellness tracking.
Premium Design with Sapphire Glass and Stainless Steel
The Watch 5 features a circular dial protected by sapphire glass, rated 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it highly resistant to scratches in daily use. The casing is crafted from a single piece of stainless steel, combining durability with elegance.
Several strap options are available, including leather in brown and green tones, as well as stainless steel variants for a sophisticated look. Battery life and operating system details remain undisclosed but the focus clearly lies on health functionality and refined aesthetics.
Xiaomi Buds 6: CD-Level Audio and AI Capabilities
The Xiaomi Buds 6 are flagship semi in-ear earbuds offered in pink, white, and black colors. Xiaomi promotes them as delivering “CD-level lossless original sound,” supported by a biomimetic curved design that enhances comfort and sound isolation.
Beyond audio quality, the Buds 6 incorporate AI-driven features such as intelligent recording, real-time translation, and automatic audio summarization. These smart functions extend the earbuds’ use beyond entertainment to productivity tools suitable for work and study.
Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi has not yet revealed the pricing or sales dates for the Watch 5 and Buds 6. Given their launch synchronization with the Xiaomi 17 Series, official details are expected during the main product unveiling event.
