Poco X8 Pro with Dimensity 8400 Ultra: Full Specs and Mid-Range Price Insights

Poco is gearing up to launch the Poco X8 Pro, targeting gamers and midrange smartphone users with high performance at an affordable price. The device recently appeared on an official Indian certification site under model number 2511FPC34, signaling a global release soon, including Indonesia.

The Poco X8 Pro is believed to be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 exclusive to China. Its standout feature is the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset. This SoC is fabricated using TSMC’s 3nm process and boasts an Antutu benchmark score around 2.2 million points, rivaling flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite processors.

Design and Durability

The phone retains the familiar Poco X series design, featuring dual vertically aligned rear cameras enhanced by an RGB light strip. This glowing element adds a distinctive and stylish visual effect. At under 180 grams, the device is lightweight, making it comfortable for extended gaming sessions.

Durability also gets a boost with an IP68 rating, ensuring resistance against water and dust. This certification supports usage in varied and even extreme conditions, offering protection that appeals to active users.

Display Features

The Poco X8 Pro sports a large 6.83-inch display with a sharp 1.5K resolution. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering smooth motion for gaming and multimedia. Peak brightness reaches up to 3200 nits, ideal for visibility in bright outdoor environments.

Advanced visual technologies are included, such as Dolby Vision, HDR10 Plus, and HDR Vivid, enhancing the viewing experience with vivid colors and high dynamic range across different lighting conditions. Although the screen is bigger and heavier compared to its predecessor, the quality justifies the size for users prioritizing an immersive display.

Performance and Storage

The Dimensity 8400 Ultra platform enables flagship-level performance, excelling at resource-intensive tasks, heavy gaming, and multitasking. It competes directly with some of the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processors in terms of speed and efficiency.

Memory configurations include LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, with options of 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB. This setup supports seamless multitasking and fast data access, broadening its appeal for power users and gamers.

Market Readiness and Pricing

Xiaomi’s local Indonesian subsidiary has registered the Poco X8 Pro with the Ministry of Industry, achieving a local content level (TKDN) of 38.20%. This certification endorses its official sale within Indonesia’s gaming midrange market.

Pricing is expected around Rp4 million, approximately $235 USD. This price point positions the Poco X8 Pro as an affordable yet powerful choice for users seeking premium gaming performance without premium pricing.

Overall, the Poco X8 Pro promises to shake up the midrange segment with its combination of high-end chipset performance, premium features, and competitive pricing. Gamers and tech enthusiasts looking for value-packed devices should watch this launch closely.
