Huawei has launched the new Nova 15 Series, targeting the mid-range smartphone market in China. The series includes three models: Nova 15, Nova 15 Pro, and Nova 15 Ultra, each designed for distinct user segments.
This latest generation introduces a bold new dual-ring design on the rear camera modules, which varies by model to create unique visual identities. The regular Nova 15 features an oval vertical camera layout, while the Pro and Ultra models have symmetrical horizontal dual rings accentuating their premium look.
Display and Design Features
Both Nova 15 Pro and Nova 15 Ultra sport a 6.84-inch LTPO OLED display with a sharp resolution of 1320 x 2856 pixels. They support an adaptive 120 Hz refresh rate and reach a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits, ensuring good visibility even under strong sunlight. The displays are protected by Huawei’s proprietary Kunlun Glass, known for enhanced impact resistance.
The front camera area employs a pill-shaped cutout housing a 50 MP selfie shooter paired with a 1.5 MP multispectral sensor. This combination helps improve color accuracy in photos.

The Nova 15 Ultra stands out with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50 MP RYYB sensor with variable aperture (f/1.4–f/4.0) equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS). It also features a periscope telephoto lens offering 3.7x optical zoom, alongside a 118-degree ultra-wide angle camera.
The Nova 15 Pro’s camera array is slightly simplified but still powerful. It includes a 50 MP RYYB main sensor (f/1.8) with OIS, a 12 MP RYYB telephoto lens, and a 13 MP ultrawide sensor. Both Pro and Ultra models carry IP68 and IP69 certifications, signaling their resistance to dust and water.
Performance and Software
Huawei equips the Nova 15 Pro and Ultra with the latest Kirin 9010S chipset, delivering an 18% performance boost compared to the previous Kirin 8020 chip. Both run on HarmonyOS 6.0 and support satellite connectivity—a feature typically reserved for flagship phones.
Battery capacity on these two models is generous at 6,500 mAh, with 100-watt fast charging support. The Ultra model also offers 50-watt wireless charging.
Huawei Nova 15 Regular: Balanced Entry-Level Option
The base Nova 15 features a 6.7-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Its front camera is a 50 MP sensor in a small punch-hole cutout. The rear camera setup includes a 50 MP RYYB main sensor, a 12 MP telephoto lens, and a 1.5 MP multispectral sensor.
This model runs on the Kirin 8020 chipset, noted for a 42% performance increase over the Kirin 8000. It also operates HarmonyOS 6.0 and supports satellite connectivity. A 6,000 mAh battery is paired with 100-watt fast charging. Its IP65 rating means it resists water splashes and dust ingress.
Availability and Pricing
Huawei Nova 15 Series was scheduled to be available in China starting December 27, 2025, with pre-orders open prior to the launch. Pricing details at launch place the devices competitively in the mid-range premium segment. For reference, typical pricing for similar Huawei mid-range models converts roughly to a range between $350 and $600 USD, depending on configuration.
