Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Expected to Feature New Exynos 2600 Chipset Upgrade

Samsung is reportedly planning to equip its upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 with the new Exynos 2600 chipset. This move follows Samsung’s tradition of using its in-house Exynos processors for the Galaxy Z Flip series, continuing with its strategy to control production costs amid volatile global memory prices.

According to a report from South Korean media The Bell, the Exynos 2600 is nearly confirmed for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, provided there are no major setbacks during its development and manufacturing stages. The phone is expected to launch in July 2026 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8, maintaining Samsung’s annual release cycle for its premium foldable lineup.

Advanced Chipset Technology

The Exynos 2600 stands out as the world’s first system-on-chip (SoC) built on a 2nm fabrication process. It incorporates the latest Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistor architecture to optimize power efficiency and performance. The chipset features an octa-core CPU configuration:

  1. One ultra-high-performance C1-Ultra core clocked up to 3.8 GHz
  2. Three high-performance C1-Pro cores at 3.25 GHz
  3. Six power-efficient C1-Pro cores running up to 2.75 GHz

Graphics and AI Capabilities

For graphics performance, the Exynos 2600 integrates Samsung’s Xclipse 960 GPU with ten cores, based on ARMv9.3 architecture. Additionally, the chipset houses a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 32 trillion multiply-accumulate operations per second (MAC 32K), significantly boosting on-device artificial intelligence processing for features such as improved photography and voice recognition.

The Exynos 2600 supports display resolutions up to 4K or WQUXGA with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and high image clarity. It can handle single camera sensors up to 320MP or dual-camera setups of 64MP plus 32MP.
