ASUS is preparing to unveil a new flagship laptop under its ExpertBook series in 2026. This upcoming device promises to be exceptionally lightweight, weighing around 900 grams, which would place it among the lightest premium business laptops available.

The announcement came from Aldy Ramadiansyah, Country Commercial Product Marketing for ASUS Indonesia, during a media briefing in Jakarta. Aldy emphasized that the launch will be a major event, with plans to invite approximately one thousand attendees to witness the debut.

This ExpertBook model is not merely an update but a completely new development. The company has developed the laptop from scratch, including its design and core concept, marking significant innovation beyond typical product refreshes.

The lightweight nature of the laptop is a key selling point. In comparison, the Apple MacBook Air weighs between 1.2 to 1.5 kilograms depending on the variant, making ASUS’ new ExpertBook notably lighter and ideal for professionals who prioritize portability.

Despite the thin and light chassis, ASUS integrates a robust audio system with six speakers. Notably, some speakers are top-firing to enhance sound clarity and direct delivery, a rare feature among ultra-thin laptops, enhancing usability for presentations and multimedia content.

The ExpertBook aims to balance four major factors: portability, productivity, reliability, and security. It will be powered by the latest generation processor and feature large RAM capacity alongside dual SSD storage for efficient multitasking and business computing performance.

Durability is also a priority for ASUS. The new ExpertBook will meet MIL-STD-810H military-grade standards, ensuring resistance to shocks, extreme temperatures, humidity, and vibrations. This certification guarantees the laptop’s performance under demanding working environments.

Security features are anticipated to play a critical role. Although specific details remain confidential, the laptop will likely include advanced business-grade protections such as hardware-based security modules, encryption systems, and sophisticated authentication protocols to safeguard sensitive data.

In addition to this flagship ExpertBook, ASUS plans to refresh two other existing models with upgraded processors but without changing their design or materials. This approach sustains brand identity while improving performance.

The launch event is slated for the second quarter of 2026. Until then, ASUS is withholding extensive technical specifications to maintain an element of surprise. If the company’s claims are accurate, this new ExpertBook could set a new benchmark for ultra-light, high-performance business laptops emphasizing security and mobility.
