List of Xiaomi Phones Losing Update Support Soon, Including Flagship and Redmi Models

Xiaomi will end software updates for several popular smartphones in 2026. This policy affects flagship, mid-range, and entry-level models alike.

The End of Life (EOL) status means these devices will no longer receive system updates or official security patches. However, users can still operate their phones for everyday tasks without issues.

Which Xiaomi Phones Will Stop Getting Updates in 2026?

Six Xiaomi and Redmi models are confirmed to reach their EOL phase during 2026. These include flagship devices like Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, whose support ends in March 2026.

Later in the year, the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro will also stop receiving updates, scheduled for October 2026. From the Redmi line, the Redmi Note 12 5G will lose official updates in March 2026. Meanwhile, the entry-level Redmi 12C will end support earlier in 2026.

Here is the list of EOL devices for 2026:

  1. Xiaomi 12 (End of support: March 2026)
  2. Xiaomi 12 Pro (End of support: March 2026)
  3. Xiaomi 12T (End of support: October 2026)
  4. Xiaomi 12T Pro (End of support: October 2026)
  5. Redmi Note 12 5G (End of support: March 2026)
  6. Redmi 12C (End of support: early 2026)

All these devices will not receive further operating system upgrades or security updates from Xiaomi after these dates.

What Does End of Life Status Mean for Users?

When a phone reaches EOL, Xiaomi stops delivering new features, system improvements, or security patches. The devices can still be used normally for calls, messaging, streaming, and typical apps.

However, the lack of security patches increases vulnerability to cyber threats. This risk is higher if the phone is used for sensitive activities like online banking or storing confidential data.

Notably, Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will receive HyperOS 3 as their final major OS update before support ends completely. Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro will also follow this cycle with their last updates in late 2026.

In the mid-range segment, Redmi Note 12 5G will receive HyperOS 2 as its final software upgrade. Redmi 12C, typically with shorter support due to its entry-level status, will stop getting updates earlier in 2026.

Why Upgrade From These Phones?

Even though EOL devices still work, Xiaomi recommends users consider upgrading to models that continue receiving official support. Newer devices offer improved performance, better power efficiency, and enhanced security.

The latest Xiaomi phones come pre-installed with HyperOS and support Xiaomi’s HyperConnect ecosystem, offering smoother integration and more features. These upgrades help protect data and ensure compatibility with the latest apps and services.

With several popular Xiaomi models reaching EOL in 2026, this year marks an important transition. Users who prioritize security and cutting-edge functionality should plan to move to newer smartphones for a safer and more efficient experience.
