Samsung showcased a smart AI assistant designed to transform everyday cooking at CES 2026. The demonstration revealed how artificial intelligence can actively help users find recipes and enhance kitchen experiences.
The Korea-based tech giant introduced its vision called “Your Companion to AI Living,” positioning AI as a personal assistant integrated into daily life routines. CEO TM Roh emphasized that AI now moves beyond abstract technology to become a practical partner, especially in the kitchen environment.
Real-Time Recipe Search with AI
During a live demo, Samsung’s Chief Marketing Officer Sukhmani Mohta showed how the Vision AI Companion helps locate recipes instantly. For example, when asked for a Pan-seared Branzino recipe, the AI tailored suggestions according to a pescatarian lifestyle.
The system presented multiple recipe options, including high-protein and low-fat menus alongside quick "one pan" cooking techniques. Users also receive video guides that visually walk them through each stage of the recipe, catering to visual learners.
The AI breaks down the cooking instructions step-by-step and provides a detailed ingredient list. It includes items such as branzino fillet with skin, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, thyme, dill, and parsley. Users can adjust the recipe’s difficulty level using voice commands, allowing either simpler or more complex versions. Saying “send this recipe to the kitchen” transfers the instructions directly to Samsung’s kitchen device ecosystem, known as The Movingstyle.
Creating the Perfect Cooking Atmosphere with Music
Samsung’s AI not only advises on cooking but also curates music to accompany the process. Upon request, the Vision AI Companion recommended an upbeat playlist intended to keep the cook energized. One featured track was “Boom Boom Bass” by Riize, a Korean boy band known for their lively tunes.
This musical feature reflects Samsung’s emphasis on the emotional experience of cooking. By integrating entertainment, the AI elevates its role from functional assistance to creating a more enjoyable kitchen environment.
