Poco M8 Series Launches with 6,500mAh Battery and Fast Charging Support

Poco has officially launched its latest M Series lineup, introducing two new models: the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro. These smartphones target the entry-level market but stand out with features typically found in higher-tier devices. The Poco M8 Pro, in particular, brings impressive specifications, including a massive battery capacity and rapid charging capabilities.

One of the main highlights of the Poco M8 Pro is its 6,500 mAh silicon carbon battery. This large battery ensures that users can enjoy up to two days of normal usage without needing to recharge. For continuous video playback, the battery life stretches up to 20 hours, making it ideal for entertainment on the go.

Fast Charging Technology

The Poco M8 Pro supports 100-watt fast charging. Thanks to this technology, the phone can be fully recharged within approximately 40 minutes. This feature significantly reduces downtime and enhances user convenience. Fast charging alongside a large battery is unusual in the entry-level segment, marking the Poco M8 Pro as a compelling choice.

Durability with IP68 and IP69K Certification

Poco has upgraded the durability of the M8 Pro with IP68 and IP69K water and dust resistance certifications. Devices with these certifications can withstand high water pressure, extreme temperatures, and immersion in water up to 1.5 meters deep for 30 minutes. This level of protection is rare in smartphones targeting budget-conscious consumers.

Camera and Display Features

The Poco M8 Pro is equipped with a 50 MP main camera featuring a Light Fusion 800 sensor sized 1/1.55 inches. Accompanying this are an 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, the front camera delivers 32 MP resolution, ensuring sharp and clear images.

The device sports a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Its brightness reaches up to 3,200 nits, making the screen easy to view even in direct sunlight. The display supports Dolby Vision for enhanced color and contrast, alongside PWM dimming at 3,840 Hz and DC Dimming technology to reduce eye strain. Protection comes from Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which adds resilience against scratches and drops.

Performance and Cooling

Powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, the Poco M8 Pro combines performance with efficiency. It comes with RAM options up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X and internal storage up to 512 GB UFS 2.2. The inclusion of IceLoop liquid cooling helps maintain stable performance during intensive tasks such as gaming or multitasking.

Additional Features

The Poco M8 Pro also features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. For security, it has an in-display fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.5 and WiFi 6, while the device runs on Android 15 with Poco’s HyperOS 2 interface for a smooth user experience.

Poco M8: An Affordable Alternative

The Poco M8 is a more budget-friendly option with slightly reduced specifications. It retains a 50 MP main camera but drops the ultra-wide sensor. The selfie camera is 20 MP. The phone uses a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with Full HD Plus resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 3,200 nits.

This model is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and offers up to 512 GB of storage. The battery capacity is 5,520 mAh with 45-watt fast charging support. Its durability is affirmed by an IP66 certification for water and dust resistance.
