Lenovo Unveils ThinkPad X9 Aura White Moonlight Edition with Stunning New Look

Lenovo has introduced a fresh look for its iconic ThinkPad series with the launch of the X9 Aura White Moonlight Edition. This marks the first time the ThinkPad lineup offers a white color variant, breaking away from the traditional black matte design that users have long associated with the brand.

Although the keyboard and screen bezel remain black to maintain the classic contrast, the overall white finish gives this model a distinct and elegant freshness. Lenovo has applied a special coating to the White Moonlight edition to keep the color stable and resistant to discoloration or fading over time.

Specifications and Performance Highlights

The X9 Aura White Moonlight Edition is not only a visual upgrade but also delivers solid performance. It is powered by Intel’s Lunar Lake processors, available in two options: Core Ultra 7 258V and Core Ultra 9 288V, both equipped with integrated Intel Arc Xe2 graphics. This combination ensures efficient handling of everyday computing tasks along with some creative workloads.

Memory capacity can reach up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X, providing smooth multitasking experiences. For storage, it offers up to 2TB of SSD PCIe-NVMe, allowing users to quickly access and store large files. Additionally, Lenovo has integrated a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of AI on-device performance up to 48 TOPS, catering to AI-enhanced applications directly on the machine without relying on the cloud.

Display and Portability Options

The laptop features a high-end OLED touchscreen with a 2.8K resolution, providing vibrant visuals with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR content, achieving a peak brightness of 1100 nits. These specifications make the X9 Aura ideal for creative professionals and users who prioritize visual clarity.

Lenovo offers the X9 Aura in two sizes: 14 inches and 15 inches. The 14-inch model includes a 55 Wh battery, weighing approximately 1.4 kg, and has a slim profile at 6.8 mm thickness. Its larger sibling employs an 80 Wh battery, which Lenovo claims can offer up to 30 hours of video playback on a single charge. This makes it a compelling choice for mobile users who value both battery life and portability.

Market Availability and Price

Currently, the X9 Aura White Moonlight Edition is exclusive to the Chinese market. It is priced at roughly 12,999 Chinese Yuan, which converts to about $1,900 USD. There is no official announcement about its release in global markets yet, leaving international customers waiting for availability updates.

The introduction of a white ThinkPad variant opens interesting possibilities for business laptops, traditionally known for their conservative styling. It offers professionals an alternative that maintains the ThinkPad’s renowned reliability and performance but with a modern and refreshed aesthetic.

Whether this new color concept will resonate broadly with the ThinkPad loyalists remains to be seen. The model nevertheless demonstrates Lenovo’s willingness to innovate beyond standard design norms while keeping advanced hardware specifications at the core.

As more details emerge, including potential global release plans, the X9 Aura White Moonlight Edition sets a precedent for future models that could blend function with fashion in the business laptop category.
