OnePlus has started rolling out its latest software update, OxygenOS 16.0.3.501, for the OnePlus 13 in India. This update focuses on enhancing the photography experience, battery efficiency, and system security. It marks one of the most significant functional upgrades for the device in early 2026.

The update significantly improves the camera application by allowing users to edit photos at resolutions up to 50 million pixels without any quality degradation. This enhancement leverages the OnePlus 13’s high-resolution camera capabilities, offering greater flexibility for post-processing and photo editing.

Another major feature introduced in this update is the new bypass charging mode. When enabled, this mode directs power from the charger directly to the device, bypassing the battery. It activates during intensive tasks such as gaming, video streaming, or navigation, thus reducing device heat and minimizing battery wear caused by excessive charging cycles.

OxygenOS 16.0.3.501 also brings improvements to the user interface with the addition of two new categories in the app drawer: “Office” and “Finance.” These categories help users organize their apps based on daily activities, making the interface more intuitive and efficient.

Security receives a notable boost with the inclusion of the January 2026 Android security patch. This update strengthens protection against the latest vulnerabilities, ensuring the OnePlus 13 remains aligned with the most current Android security standards.

The Private Safe feature has been enhanced for better file management. Users can now browse files using a side slider, search directly within folders, and share files stored in Private Safe without having to move them first. These upgrades streamline the handling of sensitive files and improve overall privacy management.

Additionally, a new “Reply with SMS” button has been added to provide quick responses to incoming calls. This feature lets users hide the automatic SMS reply option during calls. It can be activated via the Contacts menu by navigating to Settings, then selecting Answer/End Calls, and enabling Reply with SMS.

OxygenOS 16.0.3.501 is being distributed in stages, starting with a limited number of users. This phased rollout ensures system stability before wider deployment to all OnePlus 13 devices.

To summarize, this update addresses several critical areas by enhancing photo editing capabilities, charging efficiency, user interface organization, security, and privacy features. Together, these improvements demonstrate OnePlus’s commitment to delivering meaningful and practical software enhancements that directly impact daily user experience.
